Have Ya Met Ted? Enjoying Life’s Moments (& Giveaway) 142

If you follow me on Facebook at all you have probably seen more pictures than some may want to of my new little addition, Ted Mosby.

Ted is our newly rescued,Ā  little mini Yorkie who is just such a joy to our little family! šŸ™‚Ā  I went out last Friday night to pick up Ted while my kids were with one of their favorite baby sitters and they had NO clue I was coming home with a Dog!

Needless to say, this is a life moment to enjoy beyond words for us and has been so so fun!Ā  I have two videos and a few pics to share today, and in honor of Ted, I thought we could have a fun little giveaway! I’m going to give away a “pet related” scrapbook prize today for commenting with any ideas for a Scrapbook Caption and Title to THIS Picture Below!

The kids really had NO idea I was bringing home a dog that night and when I got home around 10:00 they were already sound asleep. I thought it would be fun to “wake them up” and introduce them, but they are REALLY good sleepers LOL! I have two videos of each of the kids below that was so funny, they are NOT my best video work as they were done with a hand held iPhone and a moving dog in low light, but I think it can be a little something to enjoy!

Bensen Meeting, (err, sleeping?) with Ted!

I thought Jena was actually awake….apparently she’s just a lot more like her Mommy than I thought! LOL

Here are a few other pics of our newly rescued buddy! I hope they put a smile on your face and you enjoy them along with every moment!

The Best Ever! I thinks “Looks like Christmas”, but without the letdown after. Thank for sharing a great moment. It made my day so much brighter!!

  • karenb

OMG your Yorkie looks identical to mine when he was a puppy!! This was our 1st dog, too. My kids were older than yours and were a great help. The “potty training” took a long time-this is suppossed to be a stuborn breed!!! Hang in there though, it’s well worth it!! My dog is so affectionate and a real joy!!!

Since our dog was so small we were afraid of stepping on him and killing him(this happened to a co-worker of my husband). To solve the problem, we put a tiny bell on his collar so we could always hear when he was near us and avoid any injuries.

We did not know that a collar with leash was bad for a small dog, particularily a Yorkie. We found this out when our dog almost suffacated!! Apparently, the Yorkie has a fragile trachea and if you pull on the leash it can cut off his oxygen and damage his trachea. A vest with velcro is recommended with a hook for leash on back. We still use a collar for dog tags but never attach a leash to it anymore!!. FYI our dog ws so small, we had to use a collar designed for a ferret!

Good Luck!! Keep posting pictures, he will change so fast!!!

    • Barbara

Did not know the leash issue with the Yorkie – thanks for sharing that info. Something that happen to me with mine was that there was just enough of ring they gave me with her tags that was very slightly bent just enough to catch a thread in the carpet. The poor thing was stuck under the bed for a few hours. Needless to say that has been replaced by the ring crom a keychain

  • Jennie Portwood

I have a little guy very similar to your new baby. I just adore him. Very smart and eager to please. How about, “I’m gonna hug you and love you, and keep you for my very own”? Or, “squishy love”?

  • Donna Vandermark

What a cutie. All the luck in the world. A dog in a childs lives is the wonderful experience. The only word is HAPPINESS. Thank you for sharing.

  • Sheri R

“I’m gonna hug him and love him and pet him and squeeze him” and call him George. It’s from a cartoon a loooong time ago šŸ™‚

A Boy and His Dog, Boy’s Best Friend, “Dog” gone Best Friends, A Dog’s Best Friend is Human, Breaking News, Fur-ever Friends-These are a few titles that come to mind. I love the videos, your kids were out and not waking up for anything! lol Your Yorkie is adorable, they are lovable but stubborn. He will bring a lot of joy to your lives and it is always nice to children to have an animal pal growing up. Thanks for sharing!!

  • Kathy

Your kids are so adorable and that little puppy looks like a welcome member to your family. They will enjoy him as they grow up together…..It reminds me of a caption…. “Life’s little Blessings”

  • Sandy Haney

Please be sure to put him in a vest, not a collar. His little trachea is very fragile and can be easily damaged. He is a sweetie pie and I know you will love him like we love ours. I think the title should be “PUPPY LOVE”. You’ve got 3 little cutie patooties there, for sure!

  • Mandy

^^…you know it’s early in the morning when you don’t notice your own name spelled wrong….^^

I would title the page: ‘Unconditional Love’ and then put paw prints in hearts around the page.

  • Melissa

My favorite book says I love you to the moon and back. Thats the expression on Bensons face
Another option older era song. And they called it “puppy love”

  • Catherine LEwis

I really enjoyed your videos when you put them on Facebook last week. I was sharing them with my friends that I was with at the time. They all got a chuckle out of the fact that the kids didn’t even really wake up with all of the licking and walking all over themMr Ted Mosby is a very cute little puppy. He will be a great addition to your family, soon he will just be one of your kids. Thank you so much for sharing with us the events in your family. I talk about you and the things that you post to other people and they are like do you know her, and I say well she is a great person and I enjoy her posts and her family. You are a great person to follow and an inspiration to us all.

  • Shawnee

I think you should caption it “Have you met Ted?” just like they do on “How I Met Your Mother”. It would be so very cute. Ted is adorable and a wonderful addition to your family. Can’t wait to see more photos!

  • Angie P.

I think you should title this pic. .”Its the little things.” He.’s soooooo cute! I cant believe your children didn’t wake up! Very cute videos!

  • marilyn boucher

I think the page should be call the new kid on the block. Puppies are just like kids (looks that make you
melt) and all the love that they give.

  • Pam B.

Oh Boy, I’ve been rescued and now I’ll always be your cuddly, smoochie, loveable TEDDY BEAR. I know your furry friend will bring all of you years of fun, joy and love.

  • Liz Lumsden

How about “Squeezably delicious!”. Ted is the cutest thing! I would be afraid I would step on him and that would be that! That’s why I don’t get small dogs. lol

  • Corrine Cooper

I would title it, “I love him so much I could just squeeeeeeze him!”what a darling picture ! We just adopted a minature dashuan. Such fun!

  • Denisse

It’s funny that you just posted this. My co-worker run a rescue for dogs especially Yorkies and just yesterday my lil’ boy and I went to her house to visit. She is married but don’t have kids and I never ask ’cause that;s something very personal but you can tell she loves these dogs, her passion and the amount of work that she put into it to make sure the puppies goes to a safe and healthy environment is amazing. I’m currently working on a mini-album for her, to celebrate that passion and it’s coming along pretty good especially since this is my first time creating one.

Well, to make the long story short, she got 12 Yorkie playing ’round in the backyard at the time and you can imagine my son’s reaction: priceless!. I took some pictures on Instagram and I bet that is going to end up in a layout someday. It was awesome. Those little moments in life are the ones that make you realize all you have, seen your kids with a big smile on their faces all careless of what this life can bring ahead!

As per the quote, all I can think of: “Love beyond words”

Have a great day and keep up all you do!!!

  • April

I have a 7 pound little Yorkie girl named Gracie. And a big girl rescue Pumpkin. Since my girls are grown – I’ve told them they are taking their places. They laugh because they know I am kidding. šŸ™‚ I can’t imagine life without a dog – they are faithful companions and they don’t talk back.

My suggestion for the caption is ‘If I get much more love – I might POP”.

    Enjoy.

What a nice surprise for your children. He is so adorable and will be a great companian for your toddlers. I have two small pups. They are the lights of our lives. Our empty nest is full again. Little Bit, a Yorkie-Poo is 13 yrs old, and Teddy, a Maltese, is almost 7 yrs old. We love them dearly and they are spoiled greatly. Have fun with your puppy, they, too grow fast.

  • Pat

You will love..love…love….LOVE…L O V E ….a Yorkie. True as stated above, they can be a stubborn bread but they will wrap their litte fingers, uh paws around your heart really fast. Mine is sure led up against me now. My forever friend is a girl and I keep her hair long. We were traveling one day this summer and stopped at a rest area. A man stopped me while I had her out walking and said wow she is so pretty. She should so a shampoo commercial. Lol. Such fun in the life with a Yorkie.

  • Pat Van Andre

The caption should be “I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck”. My husband and I rescued a very tiny chichi (maybe 3 lbs) he was found in a bowl at Walgreens by our house. He gives us nothing but love.

  • BunnyC

Does it really need a caption? The pic says it all. Or maybe a few words scattered around the page…. Love, fun, precious, friends, etc. I love the yorkie breed. Years ago I had one and he was so smart.. Never had a problem with potty training or crate training (which they love to be in). Makes them feel secure. Good luck with Ted.

  • Peggy Whisenhunt

Dog Advise: I too have a Yorkie and he was trained by putting pee pads for dogs down all over the house and when I got the dog after he was over a year old. he used them without us having to take him out in the night to go potty. They are very smart dogs and train well. And if he does have an accident, got to Pet Smart and buy No more marking spray and it will clean and deodorize that area so as he will not go there again to potty. Also get a clicker from Pet Smart to train him, otherwise these type of dogs are very hyper and bark all the time. I have trained mine to stop barking when we do not know what he is barking at. He is just toooo cute and you will love having one, especially since they do not shed, love that about them. My dog is named Yogi Bear.

  • Coralie DeWald

    Hi Megan,
Bless your heart for rescuing a pet for your children. Rescued pets, both cats and dogs, give so much love to their “forever” families because they know what it is like to be homeless.
I am positive that Ted and your children (and of course their parents!!) will benefit from this new wonderful relationship. Be sure to keep us updated on your family progress.. Sounds wonderful, and my best to you. Again, kudos to you for your rescue. You won’t regret it.

  • Christie Brooks

I really enjoyed the videos – waiting with anticipation to see their reactions…two sleepy heads indeed! I think a layout caption would be “He Loves Me How Much?” This coming from Ted of course, with those eyes saying it all!

  • chavel

As soon as I saw this picture I thought of Despicable me, when the little girl is at the amuesment park. “It’s so Fluffy!” Maybe change it to “He’s so fluffy!”

Or, Ted knew he was home in these arms…

    • Grannie Sharon

Captions. . .It had to be you! You Made Me Love You! (Can you tell I’m all about music?) it’s a dog’s world after all. They are all so cute! Your home has a lot of love hapening!

  • Lisa Sackett

How sweet! And cute name too. I think my caption would be “You’ve got a friend in me!” and maybe add a picture of Woody &Slinky from Toy Story. But gotta say, my first thought was exactly what Sheri R. wrote. Except, change George to Ted…”hug him & squeeze him, and call him…Ted” Ha ha

  • D Morgan

Such an adorable picture! The shot captured is terrific and the videos are so precious. From looking at your beautiful son’s happy face and the cute and adorable new puppy’s expression, “Happiness is in the Eye of the Beholder”

Awwwwwww how cut is this. They are really good sleepers. Well my catchy tittle would be ” MY CUTTIES”. Because those were such cute pictures. I hope you all have a wonderful time with your new member of the family for many years to come.

Thanks for the chance to win.

Congrats on the new addition to the family. Now you have 3 adorable babies! How about “I think I’m gonna like it here” for a title? So glad you are feeling better. Thanks for everything you do.

  • Jenny Diehl

OMG! LOVE, love, love that picture! I’m a dog lover through and through!!! With all the wonderful suggestions…you’re going to have a tough time choosing a title! You might have to make “multiple” layouts if you can’t decide! I made a layout of my granddaughter called “Licks of Love”….however, the puppy was licking my granddaughter. I was thinking “PAWS~a~tively Adorable”.

  • Karen Kuschel

Title: “I’ll love him, and hold him and SQUEEEEEZZZE him!!!” Too cute and congratulations. We just rescused a seven month yorkshire ourselves who was being left alone tied to a sofa in the basement for 10-12 hours a day šŸ™ We had no plans whatsoever of even getting a pet at this stage (our daughter is now a young adult and my husband and I are enjoying life together) but this guy simpy stole our hearts and although the hard work, effort and time it takes to care for him is worth it, everytime he runs to the door to greet us. He’s so cared for now, my husband says he probably wakes up every morning and thinks “Nope, it’s not a dream, I’m really here!!” Hope you have has much fun with your new little one.

  • mary jean

what a cute picture!!! And your videos were such a giggle! As far as a caption I’m going to say….HYELPPPP!!!

LOL…we have goldens…but I’ve seen that same look on every puppy we have had when they are getting LOTS of loving!

  • Shirley E.

So so many good “captions” here that I’m not even going to think….Definately the best is:
“Pawprints on my Heart” ! Guess I won’t win the prize :=(
Enjoy your “3” little ones, don’t worry about your followers (videos), you need to spend all the precious moments you can with those you can physically hug and laugh with.

  • Phyllis

It looks like a case of “True Puppy Love” to me. I love my furbaby and If Ted brings as much love and joy to you all as mine does to my family you will be twice blessed.

  • Debbie Eslinger

lovely pictures and adorable videos. the first caption that came to my mind was “Lifes Little Hugs” with Little just a bit bigger

  • Jennifer Carr

Such a couple of cuties. I don’t know if you named the dog after the character on How I Met Your Mother(love that show) but I would title the pic “How I Met Ted Mosby”. Then you can put a story about how the kids first came to meet little Ted. Maybe get the kids to tell their version of how they met Ted. You will have so much fun with your little new furbaby. I have three little chihuahuas and they are like my kids. Thanks for sharing your new baby with us.

  • Marissa

Your kids and puppy are absolutely adorable! Since you have a thing for Donny Osmond, the obvious choice for a caption should be: “And they call it puppy love….”

  • Kim Eplett

I loved watching those videos! Your kids sleep as soundly as mine. What a wonderful way to introduce them. I can only imagine how excited they were when they woke up. I do have to say – I have also enjoyed seeing your beautiful face – pretty smile and all. I have missed your Tuesday Tutorials and can’t wait for you to be back to your regular bouncy self. šŸ˜€

    • Helen

OMG what a cutie!!! Which one? BOTH!!! Ted is just adorable and you are so wonderful to rescue him. Looks like he and Bensen will be best buds forever. How about? Little boy smiles and puppy dog tails”.

  • CathyinMN

My first thought was Puppy Love! — apparently several other people thought the same thing. Have a wonderful time with the new addition to your family. It looks like your family already has a great start.

  • Judy Goodson

Those videos were absolutely precious of you trying to wake up your two little ones!! We have young grandchildren that when they stay with us, we have to wake them up to take them to the bathroom before we go to bed. What a struggle!! Thank goodness for “Good Nites”!! I’ll bet they were thrilled to death when morning came. Here’s my suggestion for a title page: “Dog Gone Cute!”. Hope you like it.
    Love to you. Judy

  • Kathy

Your children are really sound sleepers. I couln’t believe with all those doggie kisses that they didn’t wake up!
Since Ted was a rescue dog I think your caption should read “God blessed me and gave me a forever family!
Your children will delight in having a new playmate. I remember our dog Patches being pulled on a sled nestled between the two girls. She dove into the fall leaves with the girls and came out covered in an array of color. She chased them in the yard in summer and swam with them in their kiddie pool. She was their best friend and the baby of our family. Capture the moments and treasure them because although Patches is no longer with us she’ll always be in our hearts. My favorite photo in my office is one of two girls and their puppy sledding!

  • Sandyabbott

When I first saw the picture of Ben and Ted, my first thought was “Unconditional love”, then I read all the comments and I thought “Snakes and snail and puppy dog tails”. My baby is a mix, and both of my grown children want to die and come back as my 4 legged baby. Remember love begets love.

  • Cheryl

How adorable! My sugesstion is above the Picture “We are Family.. and below my all my sisters, Teddy and Me! You will truely enjoy Ted! I have a Yorkie named Seppie who just happen to be 10 years old today!

  • Kathy K

When nothing but a Puppy Will Do!

  • Shelly Baker

Hey Megan, The pics are great! My grandson loves watching the videos. He is two and just laughs at Ted on the kids. We have a Yorkie also, her name is Abby and she is Chris’s best friend and very protective. I think the caption should read “Benson, I love you too!, but I cant breathe…….” Thanks for sharing and I hope you are feeling better.

  • Elizabeth

I have to say Puppy Love – too funny! I love your videos – my kids are the same way! When they are sleeping they are sleeping šŸ™‚ Hope this one brings a lot of joy to your family.

  • dolores weitzman

Megan, your children are so PRECIOUS and so are you, you have such a wonderful smile and so does the both of your children!!! I think the caption on your scrapbook page should be: WOW, A REAL DOG NOT A STUFFED ANIMAL!!!

  • Linda

Oh, Megan, that pic is just toooooooo adorable. Loved the vid’s, too! TFS!!

    My caption suggestion would be:-
He loves me! He reeeeeeally loves me! I’ve found my “forever home”. šŸ™‚

We have a li’l YorkiePoo, who is also a rescue. You and your kids will have sooooo much fun w/ Ted. Congrats on the new addition to your family!! šŸ™‚

  • Amy S

The tile of this scrapbook page should be …and then there was Ted!! I love Bensons face while Ted is licking him and Jennas motion of petting something in her sleep…to cute!!! Hope you guys have lots of happy years with Ted šŸ™‚

  • Kristina

That picture is a real “prize-winner!” How wonderful that you captured the moment!

How about “LOVE at FIRST SQUEEZE” for the title …
and Ted’s caption could be, “So this is puppy love!”
    -Kristina from Texas

  • littlen

i love yorkies. we’ve had yorkies for over 20 years. they are such smart, affectionate little things. ted looks like he’s getting a little too much love in that picture and might be saying “rescue me — again!”.
