What does Above Rubies Studio stand for?

Above Rubies comes from Proverbs 31 that says, “who can find a virtuous wife, for her worth is far Above Rubies”. Its always been a goal of mine to model after that woman, though I’m far from her, I think we can all find something worth more than rubies in each of us!

I’m hosting a Scrapbooking Event, would you come teach a class or speak?

Yes, I teach at many local scrapbook stores and love coming to crops and events. Please contact me through the contact form and place the word EVENT in the subject. I will reply within 72 hours of receiving your email.

I have a blog and I’m looking for sponsors would you sponsor me?

From time to time I will give away products for other blogs to give away. This is usually done on a person by person basis and you will need to contact me directly through the Contact Form. I usually want to learn more about you, what your goals are, how long you’ve been blogging and what you plan to accomplish with the giveaway/donation.

How long have you been doing this?

I have been a crafter for MANY years, but a hard core Cricut user/Scrapbooker for the past almost 10+ years. I started Above Rubies Studio in 2009 with the release of the Cricut Cutting Guide and our first DVD Cricut A to Z 1st Edition in November 2009.

What’s Adhesive for You Use?

I love my ATG 700 and my Glue Glider Pro Plus and Many other adhesives. I use a little bit of everything, from a Xyron 2.5” sticker maker, Tombo Mono Multi Glue, Stampin Up Dimensionals, Glue Arts Adhesive Squares and Zig Squeeze and Roll Two Way Glue Pen.

What Video Camera do You Use?

I use a Mono pod mounted from my ceiling with a Canon Vixia SF11 for all my youtube videos. We use other professional high end cameras for DVD filming. I have also been using my iPhone 7 for many projects and photos.

What Video Editing Software do you Use?

iMovie and Sony Vegas are my preferred video editors

Who designed your Website?

I have been worked hard at doing my own website and used templates from Genesis theme for WordPress.

What type of ink do you use with your stamps?

I use everything my friends! I do have my own line of Mini Ink Edgerz that are very versatile extra juicy pigment inks, although I REALLY do find that I LOVE Chalk Ink from Colorbox and Stampin Up Classic Ink Pads.

How do you clean your stamps?

Baby wipes or a simple scrub pad that you can pick up at most stamp/craft stores.

What are your favorite Cricut Cartridges?

A Child’s Year always has and always will be my all time favorite! Close second would be Create a Critter and Forever Young

What die-cutting machine do you MOST recommend?

Well I have 5 die-cutting machines, and I like them all for different reasons. The Cricut is easy from the cartridge based standpoint, but can be costly buying ALL the different cartridges. I love the eCraft because there is no cutting mat involved, I can use pre-designed .svg files or design my own, but I use the computer a lot more with it. It just depends what you are really looking for and your personal crafting style. I’ll be using both eCraft and Cricut for a long time coming for SURE!
