I think refusing to grow old helps alot. Plus being always busy with something,
I feel younger at 39 than I ever did as a teen or early 20’s! Perhaps I can attribute my youthful feeling to keeping up with my 13 and 14 year old, or maybe even being an elementary school library working with first graders, perhaps being a Girl Scout leader for 3 troops, but I seriously think that having lost 151 pounds in 2 years helped me find my energy, stamina, and zest for life! Now I have the energy to do all of those other things instead of watching it from a bench!

Megan,
I practically live by the Serenity prayer and pray it almost daily. Fix or control the things you can, and live in the moment. They tried to take me on a 26 mile hike in the forest to see a waterfall. I made it about 6 miles, I was wondering what was wrong with them. Hum…that’s an interesting question that I don’t really think about. I don’t do anything special to try to feel young. I just do whatever I can that is right and makes me happy and feel good in life. I usually (okay so I eat something fried here or there) eat healthy. Exercise…. Next, I watch a lot of shows that are marketed for younger folks (ie. Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries, etc.), but I love those shows they take my mind off the everyday whoas and stress of life and I’m sticking to it. My husband says I’m trying to stay young by watching those shows, but at 30 I’d honestly say I’m still young anyways. I also have my scrapbooking and crafting that keeps me sane. It is my ME time, its relaxing and peaceful–always. That is until someone violates my rule and comes bothering me with something–UGH! Thanks for the mind boggling question at 7:41 in the morning. LOL-hehehe!

I have lived my life with a saying that While I may have to mature I refuse to grow up! I love learning new things as if I were still a young child, but have gleaned a lot of wisdom to go with it over the years. Whether it’s reading, crafting, cooking, cleaning you name it you can alway learn something new and creative with it. My daughter in law once asked my mom a question that she didn’t think I heard. It was Christmas and I was down on the floor playing with my grandkids and their new toys and heard her ask my mom “Is she always like that?” My mom just laughted and told her Yup! But I have to say I learned well from my parents, because they never grew up either.
The one thing that keeps me feeling young is a person, my husband. He is so much fun and always tells me how great I am and he loves all the things I create while crafting.

He is also a “real” believer in Christ – go to http://www.Iamsecond.com and listen to him there. You will become a fan.

Something that has really added some pep to my step is a huge change in diet in the last month. I did the impossible – cut out coffee, sugar, wheat, yeast, most red meat, junk food, and dairy. I feel so much better and 10 pounds dropped off. That’s not to say I don’t indulge occasionally, but usually when I do I feel crappy afterwards. Hunger has totally disappeared, clothes are loose, and I have so much more energy! Love it! I would also love to win the Forever Young cart; thanks for the opportunity!!!

I stay feeling young by living life to its fullest – working, family, creating, reading, cooking. I want to do everything and miss nothing, so I keep my life full and busy. I am a fused glass artist and a paper crafter. I knit, crochet, sew, make cakes, jewelry – all kinds of things to make and learn about. I even learned how to make cheese from scratch recently. It was yummy and I felt such a sense of accomplishment.
