This project was made as an 8×10 to frame and hang, but would look awesome as a 12×12 <thinking>,
I know what I’m doing later š
I made my trees first in dark green, and light green textured cardstock, with my Joys of the Season cartridge.
Once you get your trees made you can apply the fabric paint to create the snow effect and set them aside to dry. The fabric paint can be heated with a heat tool right away or after it dries and it will puff right up, I usually let mine sit to dry on its own for a bit then I heat it up – if you don’t have a heat tool you can use an iron (hold over top of the paint-don’t touch it- and let the heat from the iron heat it).
To make the animals and Cabin Fever logo I used my Animal Kingdom cartridge and my cricut markers. I used brown on the deer since I made him with light paper, and black for the bear with the darker paper. When using the markers don’t use the shadow or blackout feature, just CUT. You would select your animal with your marker loaded into the machine and the desired size and hit CUT. Once it’s done hit the LOAD PAPER button, DO NOT unload the paper – it will not line up your cut with your marker lines. Change out the marker for your blade in the machine and select REPEAT LAST and CUT. This will add dimension to your cuts without having to layer them.
What You’ll Need –
- Me & my big ideas paper pack – patterned paper
- Best Occasions textured cardstock
- Cricut Cartridge – Animal Kingdom
- Cricut Cartridge – Joys of the Season
- Cricut markers (Black & Brown)
- Tulip Puffy Fabric paint (Walmart) – White, or you can use White Liquid Applique
I forgot Animal Kingdom had the great cabin fever cut! Cute layout. And, I’m very partial to plaid š
I really like this LO! Thanks for the idea!
Cute layout! I love it when “old” cartridges are used in these layouts as it reminds me of things that I have and haven’t used for some time! Also gets the wheel in motion again.
Tooo Cute! My hubby is out of town this weekend so I am making a bowl of popcorn (with real butter) and watching my Gypsy A-Z DVD tonight! All the things you ladies come up with are soo awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Cute layout. Thanks for the tips on using fabric paint and the Cricut markers. I have been wanting to try the markers and just needed the inspiration.
Sherri, loved your cabin fever layout. I agree with Sandy, sometimes its nice to see a scrapbook project with the old cartridges, as it provides some fresh ideas. Thank you so much for sharing with all of us.
My family are very outdoor oriented. This one is fabulous!!! My boys love to see what we can come up with outdoorsy – so us girls get to purchase more….Win Win situation (although – I think the girls win more) Keep them coming!
Great layout…I’ll be spending lots of time this summer at my parent’s cabin in Maine…this page gives me much inspiration!! TFS!
So many new ideas. Thank you for sharing your talent.
Very nice layout!
The picture doesn’t do this LO justice…It is sooo beautiful in person!
It is amazing to me how quick Sherri picked up on scrapping! She is really talented and has even been able to show me how to do things, and I have been scrapping for over 4 years š She is wonderful š
Sherri, what a great layout. I too like using the old cartridges. This is one of my favorites. Learned a lot about using the Cricut Markers. I sure needed help reguarding them.
I don’t have this cart but it’s great to see what it will do.!
Hey I have these two carts, guess that means I am exploring it again. Thanks
Thanks for the tips on the cricut markers! I’ve had some for almost a year now, and have yet to use them! Sounds like I know what I will be doing soon!
I really appreciate when older carts are revisited. Thanks for the tips on using the markers. I have some and have never tried them.
Thanks for the marker tips; I want to try mine, now that I know how to use them. I agree with the previous posts sbout the older cartridges. Keep finding new things to do with the ones we have! BethAnn M
