Looking to Make an Easy Hello Card?

17 July
Saturday, 17 July 2010 09:07 Written by Megan Elizabeth 18 Comments

I thought I would share a few cards that I have made in the past and have pictures on but never posted,

Lets start with this one! :)

Supplies I used:

  • Black Gel Pen
  • Stampin’ Up soft Suede Cardstock for Card base
  • White Vinyl Thickers
  • Scrap piece of Pink Cardstock 1/4″ wide
  • Scrap of Bermuda Bay Cardstock cut to shape (Use Marth Stewart Circle Cutter to create rounded side)
  • Scrap of Patterned paper
  • Embroidery Floss
  • A few paper Flowers
  • A Brad :)

Thats what I used! :)

I lined up the pink scrap to be the length of my card.  The patterned scrap goes from end to about 1/8″ away from pink.  The blue is about the same distance away from booth the pink and patterned paper…its easier to look at the picture than for me to explain it huh?? LOL

Add in some of that “faux” stitching with a black gel pen! Also tie some embroidery floss around the card – wrap it around two or three times for texture and interest! :)

Layer up those flowers in fun bright colors and attach with a colorful fun brad!  Add these bright white vinyl Thickers to the front and Say Hello! :)

There ya have it for today!!! :)

So simple – takes a very short amount of time and you can use up some of those scraps that are laying around!!! :)

Cute card. Sometimes simple is best. I save all my scraps and I have them filed by color in an expandable folder file. Works great when I need a small piece.

Love it can’t wait to make use of some of the tons of scraps. I don’t know about anyone else but I sure have a hard time getting rid of scraps from paper but I also do not know how to store it for easy access. It would be nice to hear from others Megan how they go about using or storing the buildup of years of craft stuff.
