Background Image Stamps Secret Upcycle: TNT 47

Hey Guys,

Personal update at the bottom of this post – I’m so glad I had many of these prepared ahead of this happening – now to just get caught up on all of life and everything!  Oyy!

Today’s explosion idea of a tip or trick is all about background image stamping!  You know you don’t ALWAYS have to go crazy buying background stamps – you can use the fabulous things you have laying around your house and your imagination!  What do you think?

TEETH STORY UPDATE:

So I did have more work done on Monday – and I have about 4 more procedures and a major surgery coming up – NOT fun!  To explain what happened, well, to not go into details, my four front teeth were knocked out 6 years ago my wedding night, in Jamaica, playing lawn chess.  Yup!  Crazy! Many details and years later, jaw has never fully healed from the impact and the break, have dealt with multiple infections, multiple root canals, and now the massive surgery with jaw bone grafting, full teeth removal, implants, etc…….

Prayers: for healing, pain relief and financial support from wherever they come are the biggest things right now.  The headaches are up and down, sometimes completely unbearable, the swelling is ok, and I’m only taking serious pain killers (codeine) on procedure days.

Blessings: I have one of the BEST Drs in Wisconsin/the Country working with me!  I can honestly say, I don’t think I’ve EVER had so much confidence in someone working on/with me as I do this Dentist/Dr/Surgeon Team!  I am seeing Dr William Twohig in Weyauwaga, WI www.drtwohig.com.  If you are looking for a dentist and also a new approach to how you may have originally looked at dentistry, I def say check him out!  Secondly, I am so super duper wonderfully amazed and encouraged by the Church Family here in Oshkosh, Community Church!  The help and support in incredible!  Very thankful!  AND for the wonderful AMAZING friendship of Carrie Duehring who has been helping with my kids constantly!  She’s kept them overnight and during the days just to help out, allow me healing and rest and they are LOVING playing with her and the girls – it’s an AWESOME blessing!  I do miss my mom and many friends back in PA that I know would step right in to help as well if they could, but I’m super thankful and just KNOW this was part of the Plan for me to be here right now! 🙂

Wow Megan your tooth injury sounds awful and ON your Honeymoon too! I will be praying for you and your family as you continue with procedures. You are also blessed to have such great support from friends and family. I admire your determination to continue taking care of your fans thru all this. Bless you.

Meagan and family, You are so blessed to have a ‘church family’. ( Too many people don’t know what that is.)
With two little ones depending on you and your business booming and your sweet husband as a support team, please know your friends out in e-mail land will be praying for you. The best thing of all is doctors you
can have confidence in. May God continue to bless you each and every hour…

  • Jennifer Figorito

Oh, Meagan, I am so sorry that anyone has to endure what you have been and still have ahead of you. You are an inspiration to the rest of us, to do what you do, with everything you have going on. There are no magic words to make it better, but as stated above, know that each and every one of us in “email land” is pulling for you!! Prayers, Wishes, Love & Hugs to you!! We all love you!!

Dear Megan, You are in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. I had surgeries ( retro root canal, several extractions through the years, sinus surgery and two years of dental implants). Believe me in the long run it is so worthe the implants. This time next year you will feel so much better. You are so Blessed with your Church Family and they with you.

  • Rebecca

Megan, you are in my prayers daily that all of this will work out for you and that you are not in pain! You are SO loved! The money will come from somewhere, it always does…God has an amazing way of providing for us! Just focus on healing, and the rest will fall into place! 🙂

You have truly been blessed! I think it’s wonderful and see…miracles do happen every day! I also think it’s so cool to know that you are only an hour away from where I live in WI. Too cool! I know you miss your family but I also pray that you and your family will enjoy and embrace each other every day here in our beautiful state. Take care!

Marilyn is right. I went through the same procedure. I looked like a pumpkin for about 1 month. But is definately worth it. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I know you will pull thru with flying colors.

  • C2

Your video was very informative but I couldn’t see any of the patterns that you stamped. Sorry to hear about your medical problems, sounds frustrating and painful.

  • Sallie

I follow your blog and have just read about what you are going through. I am sorry for the pain and suffering you are going through. I live with chronic pain and have for 20 years had 18 surgeries so I have an idea of the misery. You have the tools to get through this. I call it the three f’ s FAMILY, FRIENDS AND FAITH. Hang in there our lows make us enjoy the highs so much more.
    Sallie

  • Maryann

Praying for you and your family – chronic pain is so hard to deal with, and yet you always have such a sunny disposition. Glad to know this trial is coming to an end!

  • Dianne B

Wow, what a journey you have been on. One of my favorite Bible verses is Jeremiah 29:11. “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
Your are in my prayers for healing and may God continue to hold you in the palm of His hand.

  • Ellen ♥ CardMonkey

OH MEGAN!! I can’t imagine the trials you’ve been going through — and to think that this is how you’ve spent your entire married life! OMG, that’s more than I think I could handle. How very strong you are, and I will say, BEAUTIFUL!! Now knowing that you’ve put on such a beautiful smile in all those videos, carried on your business without a hint of the pain you’re enduring, I respect you even more! God bless you, and may each of your upcoming procedures bring you one step closer to completing this journey. Then, when you are done, I hope you have a chance to take a honeymoon as it is meant to be (and please, no lawn chess!).

Many, many moons ago, I went through something similar … It was 1989 (though 12 years into my first marriage) when I had to have extensive mouth/jaw surgeries called maxillary and mandibular osteotomies. In short, the lower half of my face was removed via the inside of my mouth. My upper palate was broken and expanded, with a titanium plate installed to stretch my upper jaw (and hold my sinuses and brain in place, LOL). My lower jaw was cut in two places (and 6 teeth were removed) and moved backwards by almost an inch. It was all wired together under my skin, my eye sockets holding on my upper jaw, wires holding my chin in place, etc. Pretty dramatic stuff for more than 20 years ago. Three hundred stitches all inside, all to correct congenital facial deformities. I had internal casts (fixation) and wires, had to puree and inject my foods into my mouth … all for 6 weeks. I couldn’t talk, sneeze or yawn. And I learned a lot about how people treat others who are different from themselves or who have pain or disability. I think it made me more compassionate.

In any case, my procedures were entirely successful, and you’d never know from looking at me that I went through this. “What doesn’t kill me makes me stronger,” applies…. and it does to you too. You are strong, sweet and loving! Know you’ll be in many prayers!!

    Fondly,
    Ellen ♥ CardMonkey

I have you in my prayers all the time. God works in mysterious ways and we just have to trust in him to know he will always pick the right path for us to follow. I think tooth pain is the worst in the world. My pain centers are centered in my teeth and I can’t imagine going through what you are going through now. You are one of the most beautiful people I know and I really appreciate all that you do for everyone just that much morre. My church has always seen me through some of my trials so I know that God will never let me down.
God will bless you and keep you and your family safe and you will be stronger for the experience.

  • vivian kaufman

I will continue to pray for your recovery and financial needs. I can’t imagine the pain you are going through but know that God is carrying you through this. Take care and get the rest you need. We will be here for you.

  • Joene Rahn

Megan, I am so sorry that you are so miserable. Am thankful that you have someone great to be with your kids and glad about your church family. I know that God is with you and all of us will be praying for you. Hang in there, girl. Just hope the ending results will be great.

  • Jennie

Wow what a crazy story of your wedding night. I am so sorry you’re going through this, but to have all the support is a true blessing. I’ll be sending my prayers your way in the hope of a speedy recovery. God Bless

  • Jackie Beechner-Scallan

    Megan,
I too want to add that I love you and pray for you all the time! Yes, God definately has you in the right place at this time!! Knowing that you have your “virtual family” as well as the love and support of your friends, family, and church family will help this all in the long run.

One other item you can use (upcycle and make cool impressions) is bubble wrap. You wrap it around your block like the mesh and go to town! Something else I’ve seen used is rubber bands… use several or a couple, wrap around the block again, and you are off and running!

Thanks for the reminder to reuse, reduce, recycle (or upcycle)…

Get better! Focus on you, we will be here waiting for you, we promise!!

    Jackie

  • Sandie Barnes

So sorry to hear about all you are going thru, but I know with you faith in God that you will come out of this richly blessed. Will pray for your speedy recovery.

  • Patricia Logan

Wow, Megan. Prayers go out to you and your family, including your church family. Like someone else said, not everyone knows what it is like to have a church family, that is a family that is build and sanctified by God himself, to place you where you are now. You may not understood it when you first arrived in WI, but everything is being set into motion for what is about to be revealed to you, your family, and Above Rubies Studio. Take it all in, and everything is going to be OK. Just keep on trusting Him. There was a reason for you to moved there and now you know. May God give you a speedy recovery and healing. You are truly blessed by this.

  • TammieRD

Today I send you blessing for the south jersey shore. I know that you are in God’s hands and all will
be OK. So just relaxes and let God and the Doctors do their thing.

  • Vivian

Megan, I understand a lot for all the pain you’re going through. I lost three bottom front teeth in a game. Was only 18 years old and like you, was recently married. I hope in God, you recover soon.

  • Sharon H

Megan I had no idea you were going through all this pain!!! What a warrior you’ve been to push through the pain and continue to bring joy to the rest of us! You are truly a blessing to all and will certainly receive tenfold blessings in return. As already stated above, our church families never fail to come through with the help and support we need. After my daughter and I lost nearly everything in a condo explosion and fire the first person on the scene to provide support was our minister. We’d only lived there a few months, but he truly lived up to the “shirt off your back” doctrine, literally giving me his coat to wear! Anyway, I just share my story to give you more encouragement and want you to know that you are in my prayers.

  • Cindy W.in Dunedin

Megan, Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Pain and headaches are no fun and those of us who have had them know your hurdles. Please know that we are all here for you in one way or another. God Bless and keep the faith!!! Cindy

  • Marissa

Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery…thanks for always being so cheerful and for sharing so many great ideas! I’ve followed you for two years now, and I think I can speak for all of us that follow you: we will all be here when you are better! Take the time you need to heal and you’ll be back before you know it!

  • Debra Gardner

Praying for a speedy revovery. May you be healed with complete wholeness and restoration. This too shall pass. And may the devil repay you 7 fold for all that he has stolen from you. And may you have double for your trouble in Jesus’ name. God Bless you superabundantly!

  • Lisa Martin

  • Shari YOung

I am praying for you. It is so great to have the confidence that “All Things Work Together for GOOD! I know your Mom and family are with you in spirit and also know the comfort that come from our church family. It is God reaching down to you through His family.

Other ideas, texture from flip flops. Just cut up a pair, very unique designs. Check out Goodwill and yard sales, etc. to find different textures. When you use paint, you can cut different notches into a credit card or squeegee to pull through the paint or even different springs. I encourage everyone to PLAY with paint, inks, stamps and stuff around the house. Then turn that play into background papers or textures for punches or diecuts.
