Today’s been one of those enjoy the day editing videos because it’s snowing kind of days.
So I made this little video showing how I altered my Cricut Cartridge Caddy and my Stickles Bottle Caddy made by ScrapCessories. There is a list of retailers on their site that you can purchase them from.
(I had bought mine from Custom Crops and then ScrapCessories was so kind to give me a few. While ScrapCessories was super nice in gifting a few to me – I only endorse this product because I love it and believe in it. The Caddies have totally changed the organization process of my scrap room and I LOVE them! Now that I mentioned that, back to the project! 🙂 )
I used the Viva Decor Violet and Pink Alcohol Inks with my Sponge Brush to coat and marbleize the white lids to my caddies.
I hope you find it enjoyable and find them as pretty as I do 🙂
Also, make sure you watch to the end, because there are two special projects made from the New Forever Young Cricut Cartridge! 🙂 Yay So FUN!
those lids are awesome!!!! would you show the labels of those bottles you used…that product is new to me…thanks for sharing your talent with us…..
Pretty!!! I used the gold alcohol ink from Viva Decor that I picked up from you at CHA on a project today. Using Sizzix dies, I cut some locks and keys from aluminum and colored them with the gold alcohol ink. Used them along with some chipboard cherubs, hearts, etc as dangling embellies on one of the cute favor boxes from Tie the Knot. FUN!!! Love those alcohol inks!!!
TFS Megan, Lilgreenbug, love your idea too!
I have purchased the alcohol inks, but have not used them. I was glad to see you use the foam brush technique. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Megan, I love alcohol inks, I put them on every thing if I am not careful. ha ha !
Loved what you did with them. I do tend to go a little crazy with the alcohol inks. I will put them on the pets if they’d sit still long enough. I’ve decorated my kids plastic pencil boxes.
I’m not wild about working with alcohol inks ….. 😕
But those cards are cute! That Forever Young is
a wishlist kind of cartridge!
Thanks for sharing Megan. Could you use the Tim Holtz alcohol inks instead of the Viva Decor? I have some Tim Holtz inks that I used to color some skittles and have been at a loss as to what else to do with them.
I sooooo want the Forever Young cartridge. It’s on my must get list. 🙂
Neato. Love the idea. No more plain white for me
Great idea Meghan – i have three pinks and one green caddy – i should try that on the green lid – to try to match them up!! Thanks for sharing the idea!! Love Forever Young – I just used it to make a birthday card for a 98 year young grandma!!
Love the lids!
Can you tell us where the Viva Decor products are available? I’m vey impressed with everthing you’ve created using these products. Thanks for sharing and caring!!!
Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing.
Love it!! Those lids are darling! And shiney 🙂
The lids look awesome, can’t wait to find those Viva Decor alcohol inks. The Forever Young cartridge looks great. Thanks for sharing.
Wow!! I have never used the inks before but now I will be on the look-out for them!! That is such a cool idea!! Thanks for sharing!!! Love the purse and card too!!
Love the alcohol ink lids you did. Your other projects are cute too…TFS
How awesome is that…..I have several lids I could do like that…thanks….
SOOO cute, I can’t stand having plain white things. I love how you jazzed them up.
I have never tried the alcohol inks, but you are inspiring me to give it a try. Love that it will work on plastic.
Fun project! I haven’t tried alcohol inks as I don’t stamp but am now thinking maybe I need to get with the program and get some!! You always find items that tell me to part with my money! lol
I have always wanted to try the alcohol inks but wasn’t sure what to use them on. I think I might give this a try on other containers that have old or stained lids. Thanks
Love the purse for party favors. Pawfectly delicious!
Great idea, I will have to get some alcohol inks now. Will the spending ever end? Hummmmmmm
Megan, those lids are GREAT. In the video they looked almost like glass. Did they look like that before you altered them or is that the inks doing that? Cute card and purse too!
Alcohol inks still scare me, but the card and box are wonderful!
The lids looked great, I have never used the inks I will have to get some and try them
What a neat idea and I love the boxes. Why don’t you give away a box after you have done the top. What a neat way to advertized Above Rubies. When someone see’s it they will say what does athe AR mean and that person will tell them. I am working on a card #5 today for a Birthday. I have a cousin and mother-in-law with Feb. Birthdays. I love the card with the young girl in the pink the colors are so soft.
Take care and enjoy the snow. Kentucky had it 2 weeks ago.
Love the lids and the cards.
Ooh, yet another fun project using alcohol inks! I am thinking I need to buy clear gloves in boxes of 250 now! Hey, ahve you tried using the inks on the bottle caddies too? I am thinking they would look really awesome colored. TFS!
You are just too clever & cute!
Those lids are beautiful. You will never have to guess which ones are yours when traveling with them.
Megan, the lids are cute as can be. I don’t use inks but this sure make me want to.
Blessings and thank you for all your efforts.
Thanks for this idea. I have some of these boxes and am definitely going to decorate them now. Yours are so pretty.
Great idea. I have a few alcohol inks but haven’t worked up the courage to use them yet. I love those little sponge brushes.
Wow love those colors and the storage containers
The purple lid is my favorite too. I was thinking, wow, what a mess! I do not like it at all, but at the end I was loving them. 🙂
I’ve been wanting to try the alcohol inks – thanks for the inspiration.
Okay I have to be honest the beging of the video I said ” That doesn’t look apealing BUT thne….WOW !!! That really looked very FANTASTIC!! Love the the little purse and the card!!! I saw this “forever young” I really would like to have it!!! Thanks again Megan!!!

Those were so cool! TFS!
Great idea TFS. I love the purple lid. The little purse is absolutely adorable!
Hello, I like the card and purse idea. Haven’t been able to check your site until today due to the snow we got in Oxon Hill, MD. I notice there is another great creator name Peggy, what a wonderful name. So, I will be using Peggy1 when I leave a comment.
you have been a busy Bee since CHA. Hope you loving everything. I still have Laryngitis and it is difficult to talk, but your videos amaze me every time. I am your biggest fan. Call me on my cell, you have the number :). Would love to do some more things.
I love this. It is absolutely beautiful…
how easily will the finish scratch? if you stack them or with every day wear and tear will the finish scratch or crack? they look great! My favorite is the purple and pink!
Wow I really like that. I too love the purple one since purple is my favorite color. Good to know how to alter the lids since all I have been able to find is white.
I love that technique, Megan! I don’t have any of the scrap caddies, but the technique can be used for other things. Can you believe that I don’t own any alcohol ink? I have just about all supplies available out there, but somehow was just never too interested in the alcohol inks. I might need to get some and see what I can use it for.
