Still Out BUT: Check This Out! Let Me Feature YOU and Give You a DISCOUNT Too! 61

Hey Everyone,

SO I am still out, and not with great news.  I will be loosing 2 or 3 of my front teeth, I will be needing some bone graphing of my jaw and there will be quite a bit of work done over the course of a few months! I’m still in a lot of pain and I don’t know what I’m going to be up to doing immediately, but I’m working on it 😉

Thankfully I have a SURPRISE for you and I also have saved up several videos that I pre-recorded prior to this – SO, that means there will at least be CTO and TNT videos for a little while longer and I’ll work on the Tuesday Tutorial thing – (I have a few of those hidden away too I THINK)

Let’s talk about MEGAN’S GET WELL WISH!! Let me feature YOUR VIDEOS!

Since I’m going to be out – and really I’m always worried about you guys and I want to always provide more – here is what I have come up with!  Tanner did a fabulous job yesterday (and if you liked the video go LIKE His FB page HERE) I thought why not have some of you share what you do!?! What you can do is submit your own Tuesday Tutorial for us to share and “feature” here on AboveRubiesStudio.com.

Here is what you have to DO:

  • Record a video of you making a card, scrapbook layout, or some crafty tip and idea
  • Upload it to your own Youtube acct (creating one is easy and free if you don’t already have one!)
  • Send us an email to our contact form
  • Place in the Subject line  “Feature My Tuesday Tutorial”
  • Make SURE you include: 1)  a link to your video, 2) a little bit about yourself and 3) what you created.

Once you do that we will select different videos as our “Featured” Tuesday Tutorial until I can have at them again!

(and I just HAVE to say *BONUS POINTS* if you use Megan Elizabeth products, kits, inks or DVDs for your inspiration!!!! 😉 )

HERE IS THE NEXT COOL THING: (DISCOUNT CODE!)

Not everyone will want to participate in doing videos, so I understand that, but some of you may want to still use the Megan Elizabeth products and the new DVDs – I decided that for the next week (Until June 18th) I’m going to give an ADDITIONAL 20% off EVERY Product in the AboveRubiesStudio.com Store.

All you have to do is GO SHOPPING in the ARS Store and at use the COUPON CODE: GETWELL during checkout.

That way you can use any products – like the Ink Edgerz you are about to see, or Paper Layerz or LEARN something new in one of the DVDs for your video to hopefully be featured on AboveRubiesStudio.com! How cool?

Let’s Get to Today’s CHECK THIS OUT – Pre-recorded for you to enjoy and see what’s up!

A super NEAR and DEAR Check this Out video sponsored by Craft-e-Corner.com is all about my new Ink Edgerz!  These are such amazing 1″x1″ squares with a super soft pad and super juicy pigment inks that are the most perfect thing for inking all edges of your paper! Dress up that white core and make it unique and something special!

What happened to you? It sounds like your in for a long painful battle and recovery! I will say a prayer for you. <3

  • Rebecca

Megan, you are in my prayers everyday! Going through much the same thing here, including losing a front tooth among others, I can relate to your pain. My heart and soul are with you, and I pray that you get well very soon!

I LOVE the Ink Edgerz! You can get into the tiniest little crevice with these. They are great on the flowers in Flower Shoppe with their tight cuts. I love the colors, too!

  • Lisa Sackett

Sad to hear you’re going through this…I will keep you in prayer! I definitely have plans to get the ink edgers, I like that they are juicy and small, and multifunctional. =)

  • Jennifer Figorito

OMG. I am so sorry you are going through this all. Have no idea how this all began but I wish you the speediest of recoveries. You shouldn’t be worrying about us, but yourself at this time. Hugs and Kisses sent from all your fans!

  • Iva

I look forward to your videos. They are inspiring. I’m relatively new to all this
and enjoying making cards with my cricuits (yes plural, as I have 3!). Praying
for your recovery to be quick and painless. Thank you for being an inspiration
to your fans. Continue in the faith.

  • Chris

Good luck to you Megan. I had the same thing done and need to have 2 more done. The good news is there is not that much pain. More of an embarrassment if anything…..had to wear a “flipper” until bone was ready for the crowns…..other than than…..you might lose a few pounds with the inability to eat a few things you may love now….But, like most of us, that could be a good thing! :>) Take care and get well soon!

  • Margaret Reilly

Megan I hope you are feeling better. Please take some time and heal yourself. Do things for you for the next little while. In the meantime can you please tell me the name and where to purchase the two sprays for cricut mats. I had the email you sent that day but I have no idea where I saved it to. Thank you

    • Lea

Hey Margaret–not sure if this is the same thing Megan may have shared before, but you can use regular brake cleaner from auto department to clean the gunk off used mats. Do this in the garage or outdoors! Let it sit a bit and then scrape off the goop with a straight edged tool (dead cc will do in a pinch but look for something larger!). Then I re-stick my mat with acid-free Elmers Craft Bond Spray Adhesive. You need to also let that sit a few minutes before putting any paper on it, or it will be a permanent, not temporary bond. Can get both these from Walmart or anywhere. Crafters Companion Stick & Spray and Stick Away also do these two tasks. Can online search for where to buy those. HTH!

    • Mags

I use Stick away and Stick and Spray. Both can be purchased from Craft-e-Corners, one of Megan E’s sites she endorses and one I use all the time! I love the products and they work very well. Have saved the use of my mats and have not had to buy a any new ones. No odor and are safe to use. Drying time for the Stick and spray is just seconds! Hope this helps,
      Mags

  • Sandy

Adding you to our prayer list again for continued health problems. I know what it is to live in constant pain, and would wish that on no one.

  • Nancy Kitson

What happen? I thought maybe you caught the 24 hour bug, but it sounds much serious then that. You’ve been in my thoughts and prayers and hope for a speedy recovery. Besides the video, is there anything else we can do?

  • sue

Hi Megan, just wanted to drop you a line about your surgery. I had a sinus elevation bone graft 3 years ago. You are a strong woman and I know you will make it thru with flying colors. If you need someone to comiserate with drop me a line. Good Luck. And stock up on ice.

  • Barbara W

Ouch. Sorry to hear about your illness. I too underwent a bone graft. Apparently women have smaller jaw bones than men. I survived and so will you. Oh the joys of dentistry. Good luck.

  • Bobbie

So sorry to hear all of what you are going through. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Do not worry about us. Concentrate on yourself and getting better. That is what matters right now.

“Do not worry about us. Concentrate on yourself , [your family] and getting better. That is what matters right now.” (quote from Bonnie above with some [ ] extra)

Megan I am sooo sorry that you are in pain and having major dental work done!! The last time I watched one of your videos, I bought a Kaboo Bag (you little enabler you)!!! I would love to make a video for you, but my right hand is in a cast right now!!! I will get my wheels going and see if I can come up with something!

    Take care my friend!

  • Lori Apgar

I do want to add that I totally understand your desire to keep up with your blog even though your loyal followers will remain loyal. I have been trying to do the same on my blog!!

  • Suzanne Watanabe

    Hi Megan!
I’m so sorry to hear you’re in so much pain 🙁 I will keep you in my prayers. God will give you strength 🙂
Good luck with your surgery and for a speedy recovery…take care!

  • JudyMae

Megan, It is wonderful that you worry about us fans but we are not what is important at this time. What is important is taking care of yourself so that you can recover quickly. Having videos submitted by your followers is a terrific idea! Wish I had a video camera. You are so clever to think of that. I love all of your products and need to get some of the Ink Edgerz. I agree with the comment above that you should be sure to read the comments as that will help you to stay positive. I wish you no more pain and a speedy recovery. JudyMae

Thank you so much EVERY ONE of you! Thanks for caring about ME 🙂 I certainly do care about and consider each one of you my “scrappy” Family!

  • Marilyn Rickerson

Megan, sorry you have to endure so much. Hoping for a speedy recovery. I am trying to order from ARS and cannot find anywhere to put in the code. Please help. Also is there an alternative to the $12 shipping fee. Seems like a lot for some ink and a pad of paper.

    • Lea

Hi Marilyn–for my purchase a few minutes ago and the discount calculated for me. I entered GETWELL into the “coupon code” field. I used all caps JIC that matters.

  • Lea

Some moments sure are difficult to enjoy, huh Megan 🙂 What bad timing for you with your business, too. But your attitude is SO inspiring and if there are blessings to be had in going thru something like this, I imagine you will spot every one. I myself have realized from the many comments here how “not alone” us girls are facing humiliating, painful and EXPENSIVE dental disasters. I am not saying anyone SHOULD feel humilated, but I know that’s how it feels going through it at times, even though often it’s nothing we did especially wrong to end up there. And there is not a mom who ever lived who has time for stuff like this! Take a good cry when you need it! I pray it is all a faded memory before you know it and that your results are perfect. I call my dentist “Satan”, ha — he doesn’t take it personally 🙂 I’m thinking with my next batch of work I should just pay him with my direct deposit payroll.

Anyhoo, off to buy inkz & lightz, thanks for the discount! I know you are working on getting the kinks out of the shipping $ thing so it can be as reasonable as possible soon. When I add in my time and gas, I usually manage to be OK with paying shipping, even if it is cringe-worthy sometimes. Better than hauling off to a store, only to find they don’t have what I want. And then usually spending $ on things I wasn’t intending to buy, besides! Remember everyone: these are not high priced items, but shipping costs are not related to item costs. So depending what you get, you can pay same or more in shipping costs. If you can pool orders with your scrapbuds that can help.

  • Vicki Baker

I sure feel for you. Sorry you have to go thru all of that. I will keep you in my prayers. I want to thank you for all your heip in making crafting easier.

  • Molly Peckham

I am so sorry you are going through all of this! I know just how painful it is, as I am going through the same thing. Many many hugs and prayers!!!

  • MommyMe

Megan, I’m truly sorry you are suffering, but I know you are suffering “THROUGH” it. At some point, you will reach the other side of this. “Knowing” you, you will have the memories, but only look forward. Your positive attitude, and the height of your own sights, has encouraged me through much. My inclination is to insist that you focus on yourself now. However, I understand that the distraction of your passion for this crafting community may be as important to your recovery. One certainly can’t wallow, while thinking of others!
It is an inspired idea to have your followers post videos. Fortunately for others, I don’t have a camera. But, aside from my persistent prayers for your recovery, if there is any way to help you, please don’t hesitate to ask!

  • Tina Michael-Dahlmann

Sorry to hear that you are in pain and what you have yet to go through, Megan. Prayers for your healing and strength to endure for you and your family through all of this. I wish I could help you with a video but am relatively new to crafting. I can say that I have some paper layerz and cut mates, ink edgerz, sparkle lightz, mini stickers and all around scallop dies and would recommend them to everybody!

    Hugs,
    Tina

I watch your videos as much as I can (mom with 3 yo twins) and understand your dental pain. I can’t physically write “wish you a speedy recovery and we’ve all been there” because it just plain SUCKS!! I think it is more pain than giving birth…. so I wish you ….. lots of painkillers!!!??

  • Elizabeth Colpitts

Any accident involving teeth is painful. Sounds like your ordeal has been excruciating. I hope that you’re better soon, for your sake. I think we can all understand that your health takes precedence. : )

    Best,
    Elizabeth

  • Linda F

Megan, Praying that you have a speedy recovery from your dental work. Hopefully you will feel better soon. Maybe the dental work won’t be as bad as the pain you have been suffering with right now. Take it easy and just think about yourself. Although we will miss you, we understand that your first priority should be yourself.

  • vivian kaufman

Megan we are here for you. Do what you need to do to get well and know that God is seeing you through all the pain and suffering you are experiencing. This is a time for you to get the rest you need and spend time with your family. I know as women we have a lot on our plates but you need time for you and your family. I will be praying for you and take care. We will be here when you are able to come back.

  • Barb Ghigliotty

I’m so sorry to hear that you’re in so much pain, and that you will be going through all that dental work! Just feel better…that’s what matters most!
And, thank you for thinking of us, and providing tutorials and discounts while you’re healing…that’s so sweet of you!
Take care of yourself, and I will keep you in my prayers!!!

  • Marilyn

Prayers work, and you have mine….as does your family. I so enjoy your videos, as they are practical, helpful, down to earth and it’s just as though you are chatting with friends. Thanks.

  • Deborah R.

A week without Megan Is like a week without sunshine! 🙁 So sorry to hear of your dental problems. As a dental hygienist I understand a lot of what you are going through and will definitely keep you in my prayers.

  • Chris

Megan, so sorry that you are having all these troubles. I will keep you in my prayers for a speedy and painless recovery. Thank you for all you do , We will miss your special touches.

  • Lana Cisinski

My heart goes out to you for the ordeal you are currently going through. Will be lifting you up in prayer and hope you heal quickly!

  • Janice

Megan, sorry to here about you dental problems. It really stinks but remember that God is always with us and won’t put more on us than we can bear. I do know its hard though. I never had a cavity in my life and then after being put on medicine for interstitial cystitis after about a year and half I have a cavity in every tooth in my mouth. Its horrible and they are getting worse all the time. Its due to dry mouth. Whoo Knew? But hope you get well soon. I know how awful you can feel with the pain and the way it makes us feel when we don’t look our best. God Bless and a speedy recovery!!

  • Tracey

You are in my prayers as well as your family because when mom is down everyone feels it too! Praying for your complete healing and speedy recovery.
