Paper Piecing and Mosaic Photos, that is what this Scrapbook Layout is all about.
I used my Purple Cow Rotary Cutter to slice up my photos and some paper scraps to have fun with this layout that took just over 15 minutes to put together start to finish.
I used Paper from K and Company, DCWV and Best Occasions.Ā I used my first white gel pen for scrapbooking to add some faux stitching on my scrapbook page.Ā I also really love using these black textured vinyl Thickers – SO fun for those who don’t own Cricut – I absolutely recommend picking up Thickers to complete page titles and much more!
I hope you can pick up a few tips and tricks, even if this page isn’t exactly your “style”.
Thanks so much for taking time to watch Above Rubies Studio and supporting me in this fantastic hobby we all share!

How much does that purple cow cost Megan? I’m jealous. It looks so much better than my cricut paper trimmer.
I Love this piecing effect to pieces! Thanks Megan!

Cute technique! I don’t scrapbook, but I can see doing this with any kind of graphic for a greeting card.

Megan,
Thanks for the video. I love, love, love the look of piecing a photo. The entire page is great. Nice how you used scraps on other aspects of the page to tie it all in- if I only my mind was that creative!!
very nice Megan
Very cute layout. I’ve done a similar technique cutting my photo into strips. After seeing you with the purple cow makes me want to get mine out of storage…

Love this look. Thanks for sharing. The purple cow rotary cutter looks like an awesome tool. I have several cutters, but this looks like it may be better than what I already have.
Nice idea, thank you
Hey Everyone! Thanks for all the comments š
I actually got my Purple Cow out at CHA! š The Purple Cow people and I were neighbors and when they saw me using my little personal trimmer that I’ve been using they gave it too me! š I was so excited because it came with like 12 other blades and it locks in place.
I did see that they had this Cutter at AC Moore, and I believe you can order online. http://www.ACMoore.com š
YOu can see everything Purple Cow has to offer at http://www.PurpleCows.com

Thank you for the video. I wondered how to do the picture like that. I have seen it in magazines. The video helps!
The paper piecing of the photo is cool but what really impressed me was the addition of the several bits of scraps of scrapping paper around the second photo. I never would have thought of that! Thanks!
I have been saving so many of my little scraps and wondering what the heck to do with them, that
is a great way to use them up… love the piece effects.

Fantastic idea to use up all the bits and pieces~ BethAnn
I really like this layout. I like the way you put the pictures, and the technique. I will for sure be using it š
I did a mosiac page of pictures from Longwood Gardens. It was beautiful but time consuming. I like that you just had the one picture done in the mosaic style.
I really like this technique. It would work really well on a picture that maybe has an area of distraction but the main picture is one you love.
WOW I REALLY ENJOYED THIS LAYOUT!!! THANKS FOR SHOWING THE FAST MODE…YOUR ARE GREAT WITH YOUR LAYOUTS!! LIKE THE TITLE. š š
