This is one way you can transfer a small project of cut vinyl to whatever surface you want to put your vinyl onto.
Simply use blue painters tape from Walmart or any local hardware store, apply gently over top your vinyl cut out and transfer rubbing gently onto surface.
For larger products you can use “Magic Mesh” also available in the local hardware store. It comes in much larger sheets and REALLY works well.
Provo Craft does make transfer sheets as well and while they “work” I’m not as big of a fan.

Thanks for this tip on less expensive products to transfer Cricut vinyl die-cuts. I love money saving tips.
I have a helpful tip, as well, to share. I made magnetic paper dolls using an idea from a YouTube Cricut contributor and the Cricut: Paper Dolls Dress-up cartridge.
To make the dolls and their accessories I used Avery Ink Jet 8.5″x11″ Magnetic sheets that I had printed on my ink jet printer using a graphics vector software. I made blocks of color in flesh tones and other colors to fill the printed area on the magnetic sheets.
I then used these printed sheets on my Cricut Expression using the deep cut blade to cut the paper dolls and their accessories. Use the arrow keys to position the cuts. Cricut Settings: Speed=3; Pressure=5; Deep Blade Housing=6; and Multi-cut=4.
I used a Signa Uni-ball broad tip white pen for filling in eyeballs; and creating highlights. Color artist markers can be used to color lips and eyes. White chalk ink can be used for body highlights and Stickles for embellishments.
I bought a 9″x13″ covered, metal cake pan from Walmart for $5 to store the magnetic dolls and accessories, and to provide a play surface.
My great niece and nephew loved their gifts. They make great car travel toys.
You can also us the clear shelf lining , from walmart, It is cheaper than the blue tape in the long run and if I
have a bigger project then I have the right amount. Not to mention that I can see through it for placement a lot better. just to give you another option.

Thanks for this great tut! I am decorating my daughter’s room and wanted to put sayings on the walls with vinyl. Now I feel I can without having to spend extra on the transfer tape as I have so much painter’s tape left!!!
