Using Gypsy for Cricut Vinyl Wall Decor 42

I am really wanting to show you more regular videos using the Gypsy, especially since How To Use Your Gypsy A to Z DVD is just about ready to come out…I LOVE my Gypsy and I really do use it all the time!  I sit on my sofa almost nightly and come up with ideas and layouts without being confined in my studio with the Cricut.  It gets the creative juices really flowing without physically having to put anything together.

So anyway, something that I had to show you using the Gypsy was this Vinyl Wall Art that I created for the Nursery at my Church.  We decided we want to put the poem “All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful, the Lord God made them all” on the large wall where the rocking chairs and toys are.

So I pulled out the Gypsy and in just a few moments created from Plantin Schoolbook Cartridge and Stone Script Cartridge in 2.75″ letters, the wall vinyl for the nursery.

Thank you so much for your videos. Can I just clarify something? At 5.07 – 5.10 in the video you state to set the speed and pressure then state that gypsy controlls the speed for us. Did you mean that the gypsy controlls the size as you state before this to set the speed and pressure. Thank for all your work on the videos you do. Without people like you a lot of us would be spending much more time on trial and error. Mostly error. I love my gypsy too. Love that I don’t have to get all the carts out any more. Do you know if it is possible to load the pdf version of the cartridge books into gypsy. So I can take the books with me as well!

Great looking project. I have done a similar project at my church. A member of our congregation has ALS, and a group of us participated in an ALS walk in her honor. I matted and displayed the pictures on a wall in our fellowship hall. I cut out a Bible verse in vinyl and placed it on the wall with the pictures.

Can’t wait to watch the video….I’ll sneak it in on my iPhone later…..don’t you just love yours? I watch the majority of my friends video’s while in the car. I love it.

Can’t wait to get the Gypsy DVD either. I know it is going to be soooo awesome. Thanks for all of your hard work.

When are you coming to Texas?

I love the little finger gadget! I am constantly laying down my stylus and then not being able to find it again 🙂 Thanks for sharing the vinyl as well. I just order a 12 x 24 mat and I can not WAIT to have it arrive, I will do letters first thing for my daughter and roommates wall!

Great project!!! Can you please share where you got your “tipsy”?? It looks like a great addition to the gypsy. Thanks for all your inspiration! Have a blessed day!

Very cute Megan. Wish you could take a picture of it on your church nursery wall and post it so we can see the completed project.

Perfect poem to put up in the nursery. I think I’m going to make one in a plaque form for my nephew who was born a month ago. Thanks for the idea and inspiration, Megan.

You are so very talented! I would like to see the process from cut out letters to finished wall (how you put your letters up). I know this will look wonderful! Thanks for teaching me something new today!

You’re project is great. I will be getting an expression soon but I really like the red one in your video. Where did you get it and the cover for your Gypsy?

  • Jackie "B"

I just got my gypsy can’t wait for the DVD. I’m learning so much from you and your videos. I have tried several times to download your cutting guide but for some reason I can’t get pass the welcome check your email screen. I checked spams and I already recieve your emails. I guess the only other option is to wait for the spiral copy to come out. If you have any suggestions let me knoe. 🙂

Thanks for the video. The Typsy is a great tool. I’ll have to look for it online. I am new to the Gypsy and pre-ordered the video as soon as it was announced. Thanks for the tip of using painters tape.

Wonderful video, as usual, Megan! Don’t you LOVE the Tipsy??? I never use my Gypsy without mine! No more hand cramps!!! Your vinyl looks awesome!!! I absolutely love doing vinyl lettering on walls and change mine in my entryway for each season. Right now I have “Delight yourself in the little things” with a few butterflies sprinkled around it. Great way to change things up a bit without spending a fortune in redecorating!!
    Love ya, girlie!!!

    Blessings and hugs!

My chiropracter and I have been talking about putting words up in his office using the Cricut. I will be able to use Make The Cut to get all the different fonts.
I use my Gypsy everytime I use my Cricut. It is just so fast and helpful. Great project!

Oh, yeah. One more thing. I am wanting to etch an old glass-front cabinet door using the Gypsy font. I don’t know what materials or how to apply them to my mat before cutting OR how to get the stencil part ‘safely’ onto the glass door…will the DVD help with this or do you have another source you suggest ?
    THanks!

You did a beautiful job and the wall is beautiful, your church should feel blessed to have a creative person like you and oh by the way your nails are beautiful also

I am soooo glad I have found your blog! I am thuroughly(sp)enjoying the videos and all other posts as well. I watched this video and it gave me such inspiration to finally go ahead and create soemthing with vinyl using my expression and I really can’t wait to get the supplies to do so. However I have a question: You said that you prefer using painters tape to adhere the vinyl to your wall or etc. . . I’m curious if you’d be willing to elaborate on that at all? Perhaps demo how you do it with a smaller scal project?

    Thank you so much,
    Sharon : )

  • Helen Mullins

I watched your vinyl video and you said you used painters tape to adhere to wall, what do you mean, is the tape used to hold the vinyl until you get it placed on the wall? Thanks Helen

I am new to Cricut. I just purchased the Cricut Imagine. Can you do this with this machine? I don’t have the gypsy but have not figured it all out. So glad that I found your website, you give very detailed information. Also do they make a mat for the imagine longer than the 12×12. Thank you so much. Your project looks great. I’m wanting to do something like it for our home.
