I am really excited about the Imagine but I still can’t afford it. I do enjoy seeing your projects with all of your crafting toys.
    Shari Y . . .

  • Pam D

I love my Imagine! As with all new machines you have to play with it and get to know it. My first card was a disaster, but once I figured out what I was doing wrong and fixed it, the cards after that turned out awesome. TFS!

  • Donna Brown

Thanks for putting out this video. I’ve been looking at the Imagine since I first saw it on HSN but had a lot of reservations. You’ve answered a lot of my questions. I have both of your DVDs and refer to them often. Thanks for putting out these informative videos!

  • Tonya

Very interesting. Have been having fun with the smaller Cricut, but not ready to make the jump to something new. Still have lots to play with on this one yet. Thanks so much for sharing and giving us the information!

  • Moira Efird

Wow, a lot of info, but very helpful. I have only had my cricut expression machine for 1 year, and still exploring it, and using it. I don’t forsee buying the new image one yet, however, if it weren’t for your exploration of the new, I would maybe have wondered. Thank you for your expertice, your knowledge of products, and the fabulous job you take on daily to produce help and inspiration to people like me. Love you lots in spirit, you are a joy!!!! Thank you, Moira

  • Cynthia Guy

hello- thanks for sharing the videos. I wish i had one or the other. But for now, I don’t. But you still inspire me so much to do so many fun thigns with my creativity.

  • Linda W

I knew from the get go that the Imagine was not for me. When I first saw this video, it confirmed my decision. I loved my Circut E, Design and SCAL along with my computer and my HP Photosmart printer. Now I can save my pennies for the 12″ wide carriage printer.
Megan, thanks for the valuable information to help many of us who haven’t decided to drop a bundle on something new.

  • Amanda

Thank you for this. I was wondering about some of this. I was trying to figure out if it was something for me. I Think however I will wait for a white..I just got my expression in Dec and I dont have a room just for crafting. Plus I just want to get to love my expression more then I do already. Plus I think I would wait until they get the bugs worked out when it comes to the gypsy.. I LOVE my gypsy. I got it for christmas and I dont go anywhere without it.. including going to bed.. trying to learn it till my eyes close..:) Have a wonderful day..

  • Raemarie

I have enjoyed your videos and have become a regular viewer. Thanks! I received the Imagine as a suprise for Christmas (darling sister and husband) and I love it! By the way.. rinsing the mats with cool water and letting them dry naturally really does make them more sticky!

    Happy New Year!

  • Mommyme

Although I cannot afford the CI, the very existence of it makes me wonder whether I’m missing out. (I don’t even have the Expression…YET.) However, these informative videos have satisfied my curiosity. I feel as though the “cons” of the CI far outweigh the benefits for my purposes. Thanks for all you do!

  • Sharon

Don’t hate me, I bought an Imagine several months ago and I do not like it at all. I have played with it for hours and just do not love it. My husbands tells me to give it time but I am not enjoying it. I have an Expression that I absolutely love.

me but and bought an Imagine and I am very unhappy with it. I have had it for several months, have played with it, but just can’t love it. Love my Expression sooooooo much more.

  • Becky

Great info, but no thanks. I love my expression and the cartridges are enough to keep up with, I can’t imagine all the other imagine supplies. This is much easier for me

  • Debby Jensen

Thanks Megan-I think I’ll wait awhile before I take the plunge and get and Imagine. I have a little Cricut and I am thinking about upgrading to an expression.

  • penny reinhart

i recieved the personal cricut for christmas and have not gotten the expression, as i am a newbie it will be something that i may consider in the future, the con for me is space. but i love your videos and information that you provide thank you megan.

  • Dianne Bell

I have the Cricut Imagine and the Expression. I like the Imagine, but love my Expression. I will not sell my Expression at any time in the future. The items that I make using the Imagine are very nice, perfectly cut and almost true in color. And as you said, there are some things that need to be imporved, however, I am sure Provo Craft is working on that and will improve the Imagine. I am wondering when Provo Craft does make the improvements, will we be able to download them to improve the quality of the machine or will that be only for new owners? I enjoyed the (2) tutorials very much today and remember watching them in September or October. And it was great to be able to watch again as I am getting better using the Imagine. Thanks, Megan.

  • Cindi

I don’t plan on purchasing the Imagine, but since you have, my only concern is that we’ll lose valuable “Megan time” when your video projects focus on that machine. Love you, Megan!

  • Debby M

Thanks for the video. I am not sure if I want the expense of the CI and all the ink and carts. Love my CE and if I decide to buy the CI it won’t be for a long time till the price drops. Can’t see the benefits to the CI being worth the price they are asking for it. Thanks for all your info.

  • Edwina Brown

Thank You!!!! I was wondering if it was as good as it sounded. You answered a lot of questions for me. I’ll be waitting to see what updates are made and what more you have to say.

  • Eleanor

I appreciate your honest and informational assessment of the Imagine. I am still learning things about my Expression and love it. Do you have a video archive that would have your “early” tutorials on it?

  • Barbara

Megan, You have answered my question about getting CI I think I will wait for awhile before I get one.
    Thank you for your videos
    Barbara

  • Sheila G

I love your honesty and always giving the pros and cons – a true entrepenuer (sp) you are and that’s why I love following you and being a club ruby follower! I think I will stick with my Expression as I’ve got a years worth of pay involved in all my cartridges, etc….. Keep up the great work! Thanks for everyone’s honest opinions – they are very valuable!!!!

  • Debbie Baker

Hi Megan, I have enjoyed your videos on the new Cricut Imgine. I got mine a few weeks ago and I just Love it! I still kept my Expression so this way I can have the best of both worlds. In case some of your followers haven’t heard, there is a website, CricutMachine.com that sells the Imagine for $399 and cartridges for both the Expression and Imagine at HUGE discounted prices. They’re great! Anyway, thanks for the tutorials and looking forward to many more in the 2011 year! Ciao db:)

  • JONNIE

I Have the imagine and to be honest I am sorry I bought it. It does not do what I thought it would do and after two small pages my pad/sheet is not sticky at all anymore and I can not use it one bit.
And you can not restick it like you can for our circut and to have to buy a pad each time is such a sad waste. But thanks for showing us. Pinkalicious Hugs, Jonnie

  • Rosalind

Thank you for sharing that information. I am still considering purchasing the Imagine. I just love the Provo Craft selection. Im glad to have you answer some questions I had concerning the imagine. I’m still learning the gypsy and grateful to you for the help with this item as well. Again thank you.

  • Kari

Thanks for the honest videos. I had decided that the image wasn’t for me-after watching the videos, I am confident that I made the right decision. I will stick to the expression. Thanks again!

  • Kelly

What Can I say – WOW and thanks heaps. I am still playing with my original Cricut machine and am currently upgrading to the Expression after watching yesterday’s video. Your honest insight was so helpful in my final decision to stick with getting just the expression and not the imagine.

  • Doreen

WOW! Thanks for all the great info. I’ve never heard of the Imagine, that is a great concept, printing and cutting, and I love the fact that you can match any color paper in your existing stash. So glad you did this info video, you have an awesome job!

  • Catie

    Hi there
Wow – what a cool machine – however I think I will wait and see what is coming next – I am sure you will keep us informed Thanks for being so candid
    Cheers
    Catie

  • Lisa R

I appreciate the info, Megan. I think many of us had questions on the new Imagine and you’ve done a good job of answering them. I hope ProvoCraft is listening to you. I would like to have seen you make one thing using the Imagine machine so we could have seen the difference between what it does and what the Expressions does. Also, pardon my ignorance, but what do you mean about RGBs?

  • Tina V

Thanks for the info. Megan…I really like the idea of being able to print my own photo with the imagine so it will be interesting when that capability will be available. For now the price point is such that I will continue to love just having my E!

  • Tammy Brownlee

I have the CE and still haven’t learned half of what it can do. My scrubby got me SCAL for Christmas and I can’t find time to even load it to play! I really need a scrapcation!

  • ShawnfromMN`

Meghan – I love my imagine – the more i use it the more comfortable i am with it. I do use my expression for basic cuts too. Love the video!

  • Marcie Smith

I have both machines, and have no plan to give up one or the other. I love them both. I like that the expression works with design studio, gypsy, and SCAL. I also love that it cuts thicker materials. But I have to say I love all the wonderful papers and cuts that the imagine and imagine carts provide me. It should be almost as versatile when Provo Craft finishes with fixing the communication between Machine and Gypsy. They have been really busy with many projects and need to concentrate on some of the older issues and get that completed before moving on. But all in all they have given us quit a year. Thanks PC.
    Marcie

  • Donna Thomas

I have the Imagine, but have not used it yet. Just haven’t had the time lately. Hopefully this year I will get to using it.

  • Diane Weeks

I’m really happy to see this review on the imagine! I was thinking I was missing out on more but for the money I’ll stay where I’m at. Thanks for all your info and sharing it with us!

  • Shayjay

I like the idea of the imagine, but will wait till the price comes down and they work more bugs out. One thing thar caught my attention in the videos was about the ink cartridges drying out if not used alot. That has me concerned as I had a printer that I was constantly putting new cartridges in because they dried out. Got too expensive and got a different printer. Not sure I would use it enough consistantly to keep the ink flowing. Thanks for sharing your impressions!

  • Virginia Schuyler Waddy

Like most of the ladies, I think I am going to wait on the Imagine. I love my Cricut Expression and I still love what I can do with my expression. I might change later down the line, but right now I am happy with what I have. I have both of your DVD’s and they have help me a lot. Thank you for doing them. I love your video and TFS. Happy New Year Megan

  • Luly G

Love watching your video re-cap! Just got an expression from Christmas and got about 6 new cartridges with some fun money I got! can’t wait to play more – thanks for all your great ideas!

  • Amy Buchanan

Does not sound like this machine is for me. I cant wait till friday for all the upcoming projects. Love ya Megan you are great!!

  • angela rogalski

I’m also going to wait on this,I just don’t see the needd at the moment. Thanks for all the information.
    Angela(nana220@aol.com)

  • Katherine A.

Thanks for sharing the video again. I was starting to waiver a little but this reinforces my decision to wait on the Imagine. I’m glad to hear that those who have purchased it love it but I just don’t think it is the right choice for me at this time.

  • mary jean

I would so love to be able to get an imagine! I just can’t justify the cost in my budget right now…maybe someday I’ll win big at bingo or the lottery!

  • helen

I really think you did a great job of explaining the Cricut Imagine. If I had purchased yesterday before view your video, would have been unhappy customer. I bought my Cricut Expression a few years ago for my Paint Your Own Pottery Studio. And have not really used it much, no time to learn it. I bought your CD and have been learning so much about my investment in the CE and look forward to buying more cartridges now that I feel I will use them. Thank you.

  • helen

Yes, get the Cricut A to Z CD…it is so informative and the guide is great.
So now I did a plug for you, because it really safe me alot of time and paper…sorry to post twice.

  • Laura K

This was actually the post that led me to your blog in the first place. I had just gotten an imagine and was trying to see how people were using it. Thank you for all your great info!

  • Heidi

I became a proud owner of a baby bug this Christmas 🙂 I don’t see an Imagine in the near future for me, but very informative videos for those considering the upgrade.

  • jenny mcmahon

I can’t even imagine…(play on words) buying the imagine until I am sure I know how to use all the features on my Expression…but thanks for introducing us to a fabulous tool.

  • Becki

No sooner had my CE arrived at my door I found out about the Imagine. And I thought, what have I done? There is something newer out!

Just getting into paper crafting I didn’t know much. But thanks to your videos I do not have buyer’s remorse. Thanks so much Megan, I won’t be buying the Imagine. I am just getting to love my Expression.

  • ann deery

I love my Imagine. The printing allows me to add colors to my work without going to purchase them. I know there are somethings they haven’t worked out yet. For instance the cartridges can’t be linked to yhour gypsy yet. But I have confidence that they will work that out soon.

  • Shaun

Thanks for info. I think I will just stick with my expression and create. Both of those are small enough that I can pack them in a tote bag and take them with me to crops. Thanks

  • Cynthia G.

This was very informative and didn’t purchase it when it was released for the fact that it would have quirks that needed to be fixed so glad I waited and will defintely purchase it in the near future 🙂

  • Jan Lynn

Each person has their own idea of how they want to craft. THERE IS no WRONG way. For some the Imagine will be wonderful, for some not. Your video was Very informative and I believe more people will be able to base their decision to get it or not on the knowlege you gave us

  • renee

I am debating on the Imagine. I want one. But will wait til they drop in price. Thank you for the input. I will be back to watch some of the video’s I missed. I will miss your broadcast on Friday cause I have to work *sigh* 🙁 BUT when I come home I will watch it…

  • Charity Brown

Thanks for giving us your opinion on the imagine..don’t think I will purchase it but it was good to get some other’s opinions…enjoy the videos!

  • Debbie

Thank you for taking the time to share your honesty on the pros / cons of the Imagine. As for me, I do not see justifying the expense of the inks, special mats, etc. I’m happy with my Expression and Baby Bug. 🙂

  • Sandra

Hi Megan: I am very fortunate to own both the Cricut Expression and the Imagine. I plan on keeping both. I love the fact that I can use my older cartridges with the Imagine. I am retired and have become addicted to creating with both machines and use them everyday. For those of you stll on the fence: If I had to give one one up, I would keep my Expression. Thanks for your very informative videos! Sandra

ps…I have used stick & Spray on the Imagine mat (…what did I have to loose?) and it worked great! I used painters tape on the black lines, which is a must.

  • Judy Spencer

I think for now I’ll stick with my Expression..still so many features I’m just learning..thanks for your grat tutorials…

  • ERICA

Thanks for putting up this video. I have been thinking of getting the Imagine machine but I still have to wait a little longer cause of the cost.

  • anita

at this point i don’t think i like the imagine at all!! u got one for christmas-it was defective, had to go over 30 miles to take it back, then went to another place to locate another one, it was over an hr. away, got it home it too was defective!! had to take that one back which again had to travel over an hr. called provo craft, they were really not helpful about this at all. i am so upset!! i have one on order at our local joann’s( 30 miles away), and if this one is defective, i am done, and will be sure i hate this thing. this machine is very heavy, and to have had to lug it to the car, into the house, out of the box, back into the box, back to the car, twice was more than frustrating!!!! and this thing wasn’t cheap!! pretty close to hating this machine-will see what happens with this 3rd (and final) one i have ordered. i don’t think it is fair i have to wait 6-8 weeks for it to come in either. anita

  • Annette

I have an E and Baby bug and love them both. Thank you for giving all points on the Imagine. Probably not my cup of tea at this time due to cost. I’ll keep an open mind though!

  • Angela

Love my little Cricut…. I also have a Silhoutte SD which is alot of fun. Just getting started with getting to know my little Cricut but may purchase the Imagine down the road.

  • Sonja Bubolz

Thanks for the video for the Imagine. I love the fact that technology is always improving and changing. I think that the Imagine was a great idea, and it seems as though they have some great plans for it in the future. I am interested in purchasing one, but I just received a Gypsy for Christmas, and am learning that one for now. By the way, I had a problem updating my Gypsy, and I can’t say enough good things about their customer service! If you do have a problem with a machine, they do all that they can do help you solve any problems you may run into. I have a lot of faith in this company, and think they will bring many wonderful products in the future.

  • Irene

Megan, thanks for including this video in your top 12. I purchased my Imagine on the first day it was available, and am glad I have it. However, there are a few “quirks” as you have pointed out. I would love it if Above Rubies Studio would do a DVD guideline for the Imagine in the near future. I’m sure it would help a lot of us in getting the most out of our machines. Thanks for everything, and keep up the good work. We love you!!

  • Julia

I am excited about the Imagine too but it will most likely be a few years before I get one. I have a friend who is really hoping that they allow folks to print 12×12 scrapbook (digi) layouts on this thing. She has been wanting a 12×12 printer for a long time and to combine it with a cricut would be soooo cool! I think they must be heading in a direction like that since the Gypsy has that photo app that doesn’t have tons of usefulness to it right now. Though I did see a video the other day where the person was keeping scrapbook sketches and inspirational pictures on her Gypsy. That is a good idea!

  • Pattie Weingardt

Hi I got the imagine but I truefully like my exprssion better. I don’t feel a need to make my own paper. Loved the vidio. Thanks

  • Pualani

I have 3 Expressions would not trade them for the world. I think the ink cartridges are too expensive, esp. that they dry out so fast, too much money to print large sheets. Too much trying to figure out how to use the Imagine if you are new to Cricut. Nice video that you are doing but, Imagine not to my liking.

  • Sally

I appreciate your videos. The Imagine may be something I purchase down the road. I’ve only had my Expression for a few months and I’m enjoying it very much!

  • Mary Ann Larson

Love this video series. Right now I’m still loving my Big E — but you never know when I just HAVE to have the Imagine! Imagine That!

  • Kelly

Just can’t see the need for the imagine. Crafting should be hands on and it seems the imagine takes that away. I’m more excited to learn more about my expression by getting your tutorial dvd!

  • Jackie "B"

Thanks for doing this video, you hear so many mixed reviews on the Imagine. I think I will be using my Expression for a while at least until the kinks are straightened out. This will be a jewel once it is overhauled.

  • Barb K

Thanks for the video – I love my Expression so won’t be changing for awhile – not in my budget right now. I love all your projects – hope you have a great 2011!

  • Marcie Smith

These are great videos. I think we all needed some help at first with our Imagine and Megan you were definitely there for us. Thank you.
    Marcie

  • Roxanne

Purchased an expressions machine in November! Thanks to your video I am extremely confident that I purchased the BEST machine for me. And I have been having so much fun since then. Thanks for all the great tips!

  • Vivian Grooms

It’s always nice to have someone help us make that decision on those big ticket items. Sounds like alot of questions most of us had you have really helped us with. I don’t have a cricut yet; it’s just been out of the question for me; but I can still dream…Thanks for all the info.

  • JACKIE HILL

Love your videos, I love my Cricut I have a new Cricut Expression but I haven’t done antything with it yet. I would love to see lessons from the very basic instructions to the more in depth use of the machine.

  • GrannyCharlotte

Thanks for sharing the two videos. I think I will hold off for a little while on getting the Imagine. Not ready to move up yet. 🙂

  • Lisa M

I just finally went from the baby bug (which I got from QVC when it first came out) to the expression. I really don’t see me getting the imagine. Yes it has some nice features but the cost is too much for me.

  • Vickie

Have no plans to ever buy an Imagine machine. I just got a new expressions for Christmas from Walmart’s black Friday sale until then I only had an original baby bug and had no problems. TFS

  • Cheryl H

Wow! Kind of makes me want one, but since I just got my Expression a few months ago, I need to work on perfecting my skills with that first

  • Carol

Thank you SOOO much for this informative video! I have been on the fence about which one to buy. My dear hubby had planned to buy me one for Christmas but because I couldn’t decide, I have been waiting.

So a BIG thank you for this video!

  • Sharka

Thx for the video; right now I do not want the expense of the Imagine, especially all the ink and carts. I luv my Expression and if I were to buy the Imagine I don’t mind waiting for the $$ to drop (we’ve seen it with everything..lol!). Our world is so into getting everything “new” right away, what ever happened to things lasting for awhile…

  • Karen

Thanks so much for the wonderful information. I have been debating the purchase of the Imagine, but the cost has held me back. I love my Expression. Thanks again, for all your wonderful information.

  • dolores weitzman

i love all of your videos, the cricut imagine would be a fabulous item to own, but i don’t have the income to purchase one at this time. it looks for unique in how you can design your scrapbook layouts to suit your taste!!!

  • Judy

I think for now I’ll stick with my expression. The Imagine has some good points but I think I’ll wait till the price comes down some. Thanks for showing us the pros and cons of the Imagine.

  • Debi Nelson

I don’t have the Imagine, and since I’m new to the Expression think I will stick that out for about a year 😉 however I love that you can do your own paper.

    Debi

  • Marianne B.

Thanks for doing this video. It answered a lot of the questions I had about the Imagine. I’d love to own the Imagine but have to wait until it comes down in price.

  • Holly

I really appreciate your honest feedback. I watched this video before Christmas bc I knew I wanted one of the machines. You helped me decide on the Expression…and I love it. I just got your video in the mail…and I can’t wait to learn MORE! I have already used it for a few things in my homeschool… 🙂

  • Nancy Hjortness

I enjoy my expression so much, and have now learned how to use it—-I don’t think I would like to start all over, but thanks for sharring—-Nancy

  • Teresa Russell

I am still not sure if I like my Imagine! I need to use it some more. Cannot wait until the DVD comes out. I am hoping that will cause me to like my Imagine a little bit more.

  • Mary S

No Imagine in my budget. I don’t have the Gypsy either. Poor me! LOL! I do have DS so all is not lost. I am a scraplifter, not a designer. I usually get inspiration from someone else’s work. I have a hard time coming up with my own ideas. It usually is different from the inspiration when the project is finished. That is why I love following blogs to get ideas. Thanks.

  • Daphne Held

Just got my expression so won’t be upgrading for any time in the foreseeable future – but have very much enjoyed the videos you’ve been sharing with us – so many wonderful ideas and tips – just was I need since I’m a big scraplifter!

  • Deborah

I purchased the Imagine, and from this video, I saw on YouTube, quickly found out that I needed the expression also. I was going to send the Imagine back but decided to keep both and and will wait for updates. So I use them both right now. Can’t wait until Friday to hear about your new DVD.

  • Melanie

Thanks for the info. I just got my CE for Christmas and I absolutely LOVE it. The CI sounds pretty neat, but don’t know yet if I want one. I would like to see it in action before I decide.

  • Sandy

Thanks for the info. my Gypsy worked with my Imagine when they first had the update but I hadn’t used it since, then I went to use it and it would not link together I thought it was just my machine.
Thanks for letting me know it’s not just me.

  • Ronnier

I have the CE and really do enjoy working with it. Not ready to upgrade yet. Thanks so much for taking the time to compare the two machines and give us the feedback. You’re a doll!!

  • Peggy

I just love how you keep us informed about all the new things and the pros and cons, which we as aconsumer don’t always find these things out like we need to. You are the best for teaching us so much. thanks megan

  • Marg VP

Great video. You made a good point about evaluating where I’m at with the machines I currently own. I just recently purchased your Cricut and Gypsy dvds and am learning TONS more than I could ever figure out on my own! I know that I’ll eventually upgrade to the C-I, but for now I’m having too much fun with my C-E and Gypsy! Thanks for sharing….BEST VIDEO so far!!!

  • Donna Sullivan

I had to make a decision about a new Cricut, I only had the original, and wasn’t happy with it’s size, especially since I do more 12 x 12 layouts, not cards. I decided to take the plunge and go for the newer machine, not realizing it would not cut the thicker materials at the time. I do basically want it for page layouts though, so I don’t see it being a huge issue for me. But realizing ALL it’s functionality is another thing, and I am so grateful you have taken the time to do all the research and will be announcing this DVD tonight! I will be purchasing it ASAP! Along with the Gypsy tonight. I was not able to really dig in during the holidays, but I am NOW! Thank you so much for all your inspriration, how many hours to go? 12 and a few minutes! Hee Hee! See you tonight!

  • Carmen

Thanks for these videos Megan, I purchased my cricut when it first came out in September, I have played with it, but I still alot to learn, you make it easy for us with these videos and all your creativity.

  • Lisa

I love my Imagine but I am still learning how to use all the features! Can’t wait for the update that is coming and your new Imagine Instruction Video I will be purchasing that!!!

  • Becky D

Thanks for these great videos! As of this moment, I have only the original little Cricut bug (6 x 12) but am hoping to get a bigger and better machine soon. Watching these videos and the others over the past few days has really helped me in deciding which machine to get next! Thanks for these informative videos!

  • Garianne Fuentes

when i watched this the first time, it really helped me. I was on the fence and decided to wait. watching it again and i havent changed my mind.
need to concentrate on my E.
    Thanks

  • Marissa

I think I will wait on purchasing an imagine until all of the bugs have been fixed. I’m still learning about my expression – I love it though! Thanks for your videos, they help tremendously!

  • Sandra M

Maybe someday I’ll look closer at the Imagine, but right now I’m still getting to know my expression after leaving it in the box for two full years. Thanks to you Meagan and a couple other bloggers I am finally LOVING my cricut!

  • LeeAnn from NC

I wish I had really waited but I got it the day it launched, yes Provocraft has been wonderful with the customers. I just wish I was a little younger to be able to learn it better LOL LOL!!

It’s great to hear honest feedback about the pros & cons. I haven’t had my Expression very long so I haven’t even considered buying the Imagine. Also, I just got the Gypsy for Christmas and I am still learning to use it. Thanks for the info though.
