Cricut Card Function on the New Paisley Cricut Cartridge 29

Here it is. the actual use of the Card Creative Feature on the brand new Paisley Cricut Cartridge.Ā  This is just a basic card no extra embellishments or anything, though I have to admit, I have some cute ideas now for making these cards more than they seem šŸ˜‰ šŸ˜‰

Check it out and let me know what you think – I like this cartridge a lot, but I don’t have it as a top favorite “need” in my life šŸ˜‰ lol!Ā  What I like is that there is a lot of dimension to each of the shapes with all the layering options. Yet at the same time cutting out all the layers when I just want to “get something done” takes time…depends on my needs at the moment.Ā  Also, I love using my Cricut to make cards, and I just am not loving this card creative feature like I do on say, A Child’s Year or even Stretch Your Imagination. I am NOT complaining, just to be clear….I am just making my own personal thoughts known and I would LOVE to know what you think! šŸ™‚

I just recently found your blog, and I really like your projects. I also love how honest you are about the carts. Look forward to more! (Both projects and honesty!!)

  • Natasha Hensel

To tell you honestly, I have never cut a card with any of my cartridges. I got this cart specifically for the nesting dolls. Now I am curious to compare the various cards from each of the carts I own. I smell a new project….

I am not so sure I like this feature! I don’t get how it is supposed to all come together, it doesn’t make sense to me. I wonder if they just didn’t “throw” it together to take up space. I sure wish they would have used the other card feature with the silhouette cut out! hmmm???

I’m like you, Megan. I like to write on my cards and I didn’t see alot of room for that. You’re so brave to video projects that you’ve never done before! My projects (that I’ve never done before) usually end up in the trash!! LOL. Have a great day.

I think it looks more like a photo frame than an actual card, love the purple paper! Megan I’m so excited got my email this morning, that my DVD is on its way, Yeah can’t wait. Thanks so much!!

I have to agree with you and most everyone else. I am not loving that card feature. It seems really plain in comparison to the other card features. I do like all the other things though.

Hi Megan, this definitely isn’t the best card feature, but it can work. I’d love to see a video of a card made with A Child’s Year…I haven’t used that function yet.

    Thanks for sharing your talents.

Hi Megan, Greetings from N.J. I just got this cartridge & haven’t opened it yet. The graphics on the back looked really cute, so I am disappointed seeing this card feature which isn’t so great. I thought it would cut out kinda chunky, funky images like Hello Kitty. Rats!
Oh well, just keep playing with it.I kinda feel that way about Accent Essentials, doesn’t trip my trigger if ya’ know what I mean.

I just got this cartridge at M’s on Turkey day ~ I have found that the 4″ flower on the base card (with no cut-out) is adorable, and I love your take on using the pop dots.
Each to their own, but I totally rock on your honesty, not cruel not judgemental just honest!!
    Keep, keeping it real.
and as always, thanks for sharing.

I looked at the construction and, no, it’s not a very good card as it is however, as an iris card centerpiece it would be great. I would cut it a little smaller (3 to 3 1/2 inches), make the iris background and save it in a box for when I needed a card. I could have a great looking card in just a few minutes for almost any event from ‘Get Well Soon’ to ‘A New Baby’ card.

Not a fan of that card feature! On a more positive note… Got me the DCWV citrus pack and the animal crackers pack for 40% off at AC Moore today! WOOT WOOT!

I agree with Cindy M, I think it would make a great photo frame card. You could put a message on a piece of card stock and then attach that to the back of the photo.

i agree the card feature on this cart is not the best. But on the other hand i do like the cut outs it has maybe a little more twinking could be used on the Gyspy with this feature. And again thanks for sharing i always like your honstey about the features on the carts.

Umm… not sure how I feel about this feature. I don’t have A Child’s Year or Stretch Your Imagination so I don’t know much about those card features. The doodlecharms card feature was a little tricky for me at first, but the more I play with it, the more I like it. Thanks for a great review!

I like the idea someone had about using for iris folding. That would be kinda cool. You through me for a minute. I thought you were going in a totally different direction when you started using the pop dots. I thought you were going to cover the cutout with white card stock and then pop dot the flower on top of it. Hope that makes sense. I guess if you did it that way, then you would have room to write on it. I’ll have to try it and see how it looks. Thanks for the video. Keep them coming. They are so helpful and inspiring.

I am not sure how I feel about this cartridge, there are a few cute things on it but not sure I like that card feature. I am sure a lot of things can be done that would work, but would have to play with it a bit.
Can’t wait for my dvd to arrive… weeeeheee!

  • ShawnfromMn

Thanks for your honest comments. I too have a problem with a big hole in the center of a card – where do you write??? There are workarounds but I think i will use this function to make frames for pictures instead of cards. Thanks for sharing your talents!!

  • Lori

What about using it for a CD holder? Cover the whole with Acetate and seal the edges. Jsa=ust a thought. Hope it works cause theat was what I was looking for when I bought that cartridge. Well, and the nesting dolls.
    Thanks,
    Lori

I too have some fustration with the card features that have cut out and not have a solid one as the cutout don’t seem to match up with what I need. I mostly make cards but sometimes take them into DS to hide the cuts so they are solid and then I can decorate the card front. Love your videos and have tried most of the projects and adapted some when I don’t have the correct cart.
