Good Morning Megan, thanks for the tuitorial, I love the idea of a Thankful book. You are so creative! I also enjoy it when you use different tools and show us how to use them. I am thankful today for your creative sharing! Happy Tues

  • Robin

Thanks so much for this inspiration! I saw the smashbook video and liked the concept, but I always like to make my own- it’s not cheap- just creative!!! I love the idea of putting it on the coffee table for thoughts of thankfulness. Have a great day!!

Awesome idea! Thank for another great video. What a great way for me to use all my scraps and makes a great gift mini. TFS and for all the inspiration.

    Megan-
Thanks for sharing this video today! šŸ™‚ How cute. I’d LOVE to do something like this. How much does one of those pink bind-it-all machines cost? Where’d you get yours? I get Michaels Coupons all the time.

    I hope you’re having a wonderful day!

Great tutorial Megan. Thanks for sharing. I think I will make one for the grand-children to write down what they are thankful for on Thanksgiving Day. Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

I am new to your website but you have already made me want to clone myself. I need one to learn from you and one to try the projects. I did not know that there is sssooo much out there to do and I want to try them all!! You are already a favorite of mine!!!!

Great video! Thanks for sharing your idea of the smashbook. Now I have another thing to put on my Christmas wish list – a Bind-it-All!! My DH will be so happy šŸ™‚

That little book is so cute. I could make one for each of my grandkids to remind them of our last visit. I can personalize it to each child! How fun. Thanks.

Megan, thanks again for a great tutorial. Actually, I didn’t know what a smash book was, but now I realize it’s just basically a “mini album”. Thanks again for sharing.

I’m SO with you on the Smashbook. I’ve wanted one since they came out, but can’t get over the “seriously-I-could-make-that-why-spend-$14” hurdle. šŸ™‚
I never thought about using grunge paper as a cover. Brilliant! I love making my own books, but sometime I want a lighter weight cover. Normal paper and cardstock are just too thin to stand alone. Thanks for the tip!

Great tutorial! I love smash books as well but think they are a little on the pricey side. I did purchase one smash album, but have made 2 since then and plan on making more! lol Thanks for all the great ideas!!

    Hi, Megan, my sweet friend!!
Here’s a tip about the BIA. You know the little key chain with the measuring do hickies on it?? If you slide the plastic do hickey in between the front plates on the BIA, it will measure the space for you. All you have to do is turn the knob until it hits the side of the plastic do hickey for the size wire you are using. Does that make any sense??? If not, email me and I’ll try to clarify! Love these books. I made one for a travel journal for stuff from trips my hubby and I take with notes of our fave hotels, restaurants, receipts, post cards, thoughts and memories. I love it!! I don’t like to do traditional scrapbooking, but these inspire me!! Thanks for the awesome video and all that you do!!! Blessings and hugs to you, Sean, Gen and Ben!! Love ya~!

I’ve wondered what those SMASH Books are all about. I guess they’re sort of like little homemade journals that can be little mini-albums. I saw some at JoAnn’s today, and next time I go, I think I’ll get one. I used to keep a diary when I was a kid.

What an awesome idea! I’m thinking I may make one to take with us at Thanksgiving. We are going to WA to meet up with our oldest daughter and her family and celebrate Thanksgiving with my mom and sibilings. Gena (sis-in-law) always has a houseful for Thanksgiving. What fun to have this on the coffee table for people to write notes in. A great way to remember the holiday. Don’t know whether I’d keep it, or give it to my sister-in-law.

Thanks for your ideas and spiritual heart.

Love, love, love the album! I just hatched chicks and that would be the cutest thing to document their journey. Another tip for binding the book is that elementary schools have the book makers in the teachers workroom and I know at our school, we have no problem with parents using them. The video has also inspired me to help my students make smash books featuring the alphabet. They can collect pictures from magazines, draw or get parents to take pictures of things that start with each letter of the alphabet! Thanks a million!

I truly enjoyed your tutorial. You mae everything so fun. Do yu ship to Mexico? I am thinking about asking for a club kit membership for Christmas That would be great. I also would love a Bind it All. Need to check that out!
    God Bless
I am so thnkful for you and all your inspiration!

  • Patrice

    Hi Megan,
I am going to do some smash books for Christmas this year as gifts. Where do I get you kits? I went to your online store but did not see any.

  • Kathy

I am thankful for creative people like you who are willing to share their time and talents. You are doing a great job. You are right, it is difficult to keep the proper balance with family and work. Just remember that you wouldn’t be working (even though it is a job you love), if it wasn’t for your precious family. If you keep your priorities in order, the rest will fall into place. Thanks for all you do!
    Keep smiling!

I am a FACS/Home Economics teacher. My students are curently selecting a personal goal to plan and work through in the next 2 weeks. I do a goal with them and had decided I was going to make my own Smash Book and here, at the beginning of the project, your tutorial lands in my inbox. How timely! I am a cardmaker and don’t want to design whole scrapbook pages-too big a space and I’m not big into photos. My Smash Book can have some pictures, some journaling, and some doodling when I get ideas for card designs or techniques. I might even just stamp or Cricut some things just for fun. I might just have to throw in some recipe ideas or finds until I can investigate further. Mine isn’t going to be themed. AND since mine is not officially a Smash book, mine may be called a Splash Book-splashes and snippets of my life in one special place. I am going to somehow attach a writing tool so I have no excuse for not putting things in in a timely manner. Random doesn’t require extra time. Can I do random? We’ll see. I can see some of you doing a holiday Smash/Splash book. Wouldn’t that be fun? . . .. .

thanks for the tutorial, this is the first time a have seen a video using the bind-it-all that made sense and was easy to understand that now I think I can do it

  • Cydney

I really like your “smash” book and thankful book. Great demo of the binder. I just got one from another company and can’t wait to give it a try. My brother died recently and we are having a family get together Saturday to share memories. Maybe I can dig up some pictures and put some note pages in so people can write something they might not want to share out loud. Thanks for the inspiration.

I am thankful for all the time you take to show us new projects and how easy it is to make them. I would be lost without your tutorials

  • Loretta

I love our great ideas. I like all your videos how do you come up with so many new ideas all the time I sure wish I had some of your talent just some.

  • Annette

I liked this idea for a book for things we are thankful for. We have a lot to be thankful for! Thank you for the directions for the binding tool. I wondered how to ot use them. Have a great evening:)
