Hey everyone,
First I need to apologize for the horrible quality and the nasty choppiness of this video! It’s embarrassing, but I wanted to get this video out there and show some of these REALLY awesome features that your Cricut can do. I absolutely love making cards from scratch using the Cricut. I also am going to show you a Cheaper/Cheater way of doing the Cuttlebug Embossing, (For when you don’t have the funds to buy a Cuttlebug!) LOVE IT and so will to you!
So check it out

Hey guys, I am SO super excited! Guess what I bought today for a super CHEAPO price? That’s right I got a Xyron 2.5″ Create-A-Sticker. I know, I know, I am a total SUCKER for all of those gadgets and gizmos available at any craft store or what have you. BUT, I can tell you, I try to be smart about it. I will tell you I ended up buying the Xyron tonight at AC Moore, for only $13.00! Can you believe it??? That’s the price of the refills (which I will not buy unless I have a coupon) I was so stinkin’ EXCITED to find it that cheap!!! So awesome!
Here it is! I LOVE IT!

I am going to have to post videos not only on how to use it and how great it is, but also how to look out for things and buy things inexpensively or alternatives to some of the equipment out there until you feel you have the funds to purchase it, or for a once in a while use.
If you aren’t a full time scrapbook/card enthusiast like some, you don’t want or NEED to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars to get some of the great effects that these tools supply. However, if you are a full time all about it kind of scrapper…follow close. I will be posting tips, tricks deals and more to watch out for.
1) Patience Patience Patience! PLEASE, If I can tell you one thing, is learn patience when you are shopping for items that you “just need” or “can’t live without”
stop and think. There are ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS deals out there. Did I ever mention that I bought my Cricut Expression bundle for only $199.00? I’ll tell that story some other time, but it’s another example of patience and doing homework that helped a gazillion to saved me hundreds!
2) Get out those coupons! AC Moore, Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, and Joann’s ALL have coupons on a regular basis! AND, more times then not they almost all always meet the competitors prices and take each others coupons, SO, check out the websites and you can almost always print one out on your way out the door to the store!
Here are my top 4:
It’s so easy and can save you an easy 40% on almost every visit
3) If you are really stuck, always look for alternatives, I’ll be the first to tell you they ARE out there and they can be a lot of fun and another way of just simply being creative! I would LOVE to get a cuddlebug for example, but I have found a few really fun ways of getting similar results without buying the $50 equipment. Though I am sure someday I will be getting one, its just not time in my life for it…so…I’m having fun coming up with other ideas for getting some of those same exact looks! (Keep watching for those videos too, you’ll love them I promise!!!
)
I read a great article today that was talking about the different kinds of shoppers/scrappers that are out there… very interesting. I am definitely the kind of shopper that likes to look, see and hold the items in my hand before I shop. So local craft stores or local distributor/demonstrators (Demonstrators like Close To My Heart, Creative Memories and Stampin’ Up) are my kind of ways to shop. I like to carefully examine and touch what I am buying and take it home with me that day if I want it.
There are pros to buying online though, sometimes you can get a much better deal! (But watch out for shipping costs with online orders!) There are so many resources out there and so many great things available! It’s just awesome, but don’t get too overwhelmed! Enjoy and take it one day at a time….you’ll get there. I’m still on the road, so join me and…
Enjoy the Moments!
We’ll catch up again soon!

Here is a bunch of photos from previous around my house Cricut Machine projects I have worked on. Nothing too fancy and nothing completely unique to me, just fun things that I enjoy and put into my home. I can share with you more on how I did each project at request, and more than likely will be doing some videos on them in the near future!
We’ll start with these…

This is one of my favorite Bible verses for in a home. I used a matte finish brown vinyl (Chocolate is the actual color name) and used the Stone Script Cricut Cartridge which is really great for home decor vinyls.
(All these projects were done before I purchased my Sure Cuts A Lot software and I can tell you from experience these projects would have been much easier using that software!)

This is over the door way in my nursery. I just LOVE this saying and think it is so sweet, so I added a few stars to match with the Bible verse that I did for over Jenavieve’s crib, which you can see below!

So this is my Proverbs wall vinyl for over my baby’s crib! I just thought this verse was so sweet, again done with the Chocolate matte finish vinyl and this time I used various sizes and two different cartridges to cut out this on my 12×24 Cricut Mat. I believe it was Stone Script and Plantin Schoolbook using the Roly Poly feature. I just love this verse and it’s so sweet because alot of nights before bed when we pray with little Bensen he’ll point to the wall and say sleep. It puts a smile on my face and I say that’s right, Jesus wants you to sleep sweet! *I just love him!*
Anyway, here are a few other crafts I made really quick…

This is a box I made using just a basic wooden box from the local craft store and I used vinyl once again to cut out the letters I wanted to write out my step-daughter’s name, Riley. We keep letters to her in it so I decided to paint it with some fun colors inside and out and put her name on it. After I painted it and placed on the letter I used Minwax Polycrylic Protective Finish and it gives it a nice shine and seals it up. So cute!
I used the same technique on these two wooden picture frames for my nephews…

So there ya have it, just a few more ideas that I hope give you inspiration to know YOU CAN DO IT! ![]()
I would be happy to answer any questions you may have on how it’s done, and like I said there are more videos to follow so stay tuned!
Enjoy the Moments!!!!
Meg

Here is a picture from I made for a friend as a birthday present.

I bought a plain wooden picture from Michael’s and painted it with Brown acrylic paint. I used Roly Poly setting with Platin School Book to write out Casper and I used Paper Pups for cutting out the Best Friends with the heart. I used white vinyl for the lettering once the brown paint dryed I applied the vinyl to the frame and then used a water based polycrylic sealer to give it a finish and shine! It’s a great frame and you can customize it however you desire! Just thought I would share a few pics. Feel free to contact me with questions or if you would like to see more!

I did this quick little cute video to show you something that has nothing to do with scrapbooking or card making or cricuting, but it’s so cute and fun I just had to post it on the blog! We are having another bridal shower for my sister tomorrow night and it’s going to have this cute little rose flower theme. It’s not going to be anything too fancy as far as food or other things, so we decided to go out and pick up Wilton cake decorating tips and decorated little sugar cubes with pink and green icing. The results where cute. It was time consuming, but really adorable for an extra special touch for the coffee and tea we will have at the bridal shower. So if you are going to be having a flower themed bridal or even baby shower, here’s how we did it…

So not to make fun of my wonderfully amazing husband at all, but he’s crazy! lol
So I’ve been uploading these videos using YouTube, and I haven’t noticed until I had to log in today that the account he created was spelled AbvoeRubuisStudio. Now mind you, if I made that kind of mistake I would so hear about it. lol!
Anyway I thought it was really funny, but yet I’m competely annoyed that I have to re-upload all my videos to the account I had earlier created called AboveRubiesStudio. Now isn’t that much nicer? Sorry to anyone I sent to YouTube to look for my videos and you couldn’t find them. The name will be changed shortly
Just another way to, Enjoy The Moments!
