A Scrappin’ Retreat! 40

Oh what a treat it is! 🙂

I’ve mentioned a few times that I spent New Years weekend having  a fun little scrappin’ retreat on my own – but Britten just got back from one recently with some friends at a really great retreat house near Orlando Florida at the Hypolita Villa.  She made this great video for us to share her time and some creative fun she has with friends.  Take a Look:

If you’ve never had the chance, or knew of such great things as a scrappin’ retreat – check them out!  There are places and groups available all the time that know how to kick up and party while you scrap.  Definitely a fun time and something that I would love to host some weekend for all the Above Rubies Friends! 🙂 Who’s in!!???!!! 🙂

Alright I’ll see you tomorrow with a Tuesday Tutorial and a Highlight of the January 2012 Club Ruby Kit 😉

I would love to scrap with you! My friend Betsy and I came to your home last spring, and we had such a good time! Please keep us posted!

I would love to attend a retreat, especially if you plan to have it in Florida, since that is my home state. Orlando would be nice too and not too far away!! It would be so much fun.

A scrapping retreat sounds like a TON of fun…ESPECIALLY if you decide to do it in Orlando. I live just under 2 hours away & lived in O-town for about 10 years…it is my old stomping ground & I go back at least once a month…if you decided to do a retreat & do it in Orlando, I would be motte than happy to help scout out locations & get things organized. I’m going to my very first ever scrapping retreat this weekend at a state park. Sounds like it’s going to be fun! If you ever host one, count me in!!

I am from GA, but a scrapping retreat in Orlando would be so much fun! I am only alittle over 5 hours away from there! I have been on several retreats and they are so enjoyable and so much fun being w/others and getting ideas from them. I am going on a retreat in SC in March and I cannot wait for that one. This scrapping store has a scrapbook cabin next to it for rentals, etc.

What fun that would be!!! I know I have at least 6 of my friends (don’t want to brag; but, we are all retired), who would love to do this!!! Thanks for sharing!!

Nice video. Looks like you had a ton of fun there. I think that a ARS scrapping retreat would be a great idea. Nice opportunity for you to mingle with your fans! Fun for all.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE scrapbooking retreats …. so much that between October 2011 and April 2012 I will have gone on 6 of them! I’ll be going to one this coming Friday, as a matter of fact. There’s nothing more fun than going for 3 days to a hotel, not having to make the bed, make a meal, answer a phone, listen to the TV blaring …. ya get my drift!!! I love my 3-day scrapbooking retreats (generally 10 a.m. Friday to 4 p.m. Sunday). They are so much fun, and Megan — if you have a retreat, I’ll be more than happy to hop my happy little behind on a plane and be there! Hugs!

Thanks for the dreamy Orlando scrappy house. I scrap book in PA at the Cozy Crop House, Lititz, PA – room for 14. For those looking for places google and see what comes up. Your girls are quite quiet, LOL!

Thanks so much for sharing that with us. I’d love to attend a retreat like that someday…looks like awesome fun with the right group of people. Hope you all had a wonderful time. The projects you showed were really nice too !

I live in Canada and would love to go on a retreat almost anywhere as long as I had time to make flight arrangements. Have considered a “scrapping cruise” but not sure what hubby would do. ( we have been on several cruises already and I know there’s lots to do on the ship, but a scrapping cruise?) Anyway a retreat anywhere would be great!

I just got back yesterday evening from a 4 day scrapbooking retreat. It was wonderful! If you ever have one, I would love to come if I can!

A scrappy retreat sounds like so much fun. I have been on other retreats but not scrapping. Would love attend one and meet new friends and learn new things.

There is a bed and breakfast like place in McPherson, KS, called Maple Memories and groups can book it for quilting, scrapbooking, crafting, whatever you want to get together….LOVE IT! The group can not consist of more than 12 individuals and we went in October and had BLAST…Scrapbooked till wee hours of the morning and then when you got up, breakfast was ready! I would recommend it to everyone who loves to craft! So, when are we going?

A local scrappy retreat would be great so no airfare involved. I know you had business cards over at Scraptacular and now shes partnering with Legacy Retreat House. If you do a retreat there, that would be awesome !!

I’ve been to the Hypolita Villa with a group of my friends a couple of times since 2009. We had a wonderful time. The house is set up great. They had the garage set up with a small scrapbook store and scrapbook tools (Cuttlebug; dies; punches, etc.) They also had a Cricut Expression with a few Cricut cartridges set up in the main scrapbook room. The owners were really nice people.

(We all live in Florida and were only interested in scrapbooking but Disney is about 15-20 minutes or so away)

Here in Southern California we LOVE scrapbook retreats and I try to organize one or two weekends a year. Our next one is coming up in March at the Doubletree Club Hotel in Santa Ana California, where we love the meals, maid service and a manager who scrapbooks herself! As a retreat organizer, I have taken scrappers to a place in the mountains, gone on a scrapbook cruise and we have decided that the destination is not as important as a great experience with good friends. Glad to know that Sister Scrappers all over enjoy this.

I use to go on several retreats a year but have not been to one in 3 years. I really miss it but all my scrapping buddies either moved away or are no longer scrapping (can you imagine?). I would love to find another group to go with.

Watched the video, looks like fun. I think my daughter would like this as she is more of a scrapper than I am. I sent her the video to watch.

Hey Megan, first off….Happy New Year. Please when u get all the particulars together for hosting a scrap party, let me know. I have never been to one and would love to be in attendence. I would love to host one in my area, but I don’t believe anyone scraps where I live.

  • Lisa LeMay

Oh wow!!! I would die to go on a scrapbooking retreat!!!! I would totally be in if it weren’t for severe lack of financial means! LoL But I can’t wait to see some videos of other ladies having fun! 😀 Take care!!!

Hello Fellow Scrappers!!! I have been to retreats all found on this wonderful website called “Papercrafter’s Corner.” You can select the state location you are interested in and if the retreat location has posted their information with the site, you can click on it and be taken directly to the retreat site. My buds and I have been to three different retreat locations and all three had were set up for scrappers with wonderful chairs, electric and manual die cutting machines along with the necessary dies and/or cartridges, stamps, inks, and paper cutters. All reasonably priced. We go at least three times a year…..more if we can get away with it! LOL! Check it out.
